Grand mals or petite mals?

I did not have seizures ever, but my best friend of 40+ years did. She had grand mal, and I remember when she was young that sirens and flashing lights used to set them off. She took phenobarbitol almost all her life, and I don't believe she took anything else for them. Once she was on a regular schedule of her medicines she never had ones after that. How wonderful that you had a lovely daughter despite being told otherwise. I'm so glad to hear that worked out well despite their predictions! (Thought I'd add to this discussion to bring it back to the top of the pile, it's a good discussion and I'm sure lots of people missed it:-)

i havent got it but my daughter has it due to haveing tuberous sclerosis.she has big small and vaccant ones.at the moment shes on tegretol.clabazam and midazolam.shes also on melatonin to help her sleep.we have tried nearly every med that is out there and havent found one yet.so we are looking at surgery so poss try and help her.
