how do you describe your job?

Of course, you could say I'm a writer but I think that's kind of boring. This morning I came up with a better description in my opinion. "I'm a noticer of stuff". I notice things that most people just ignore or gloss over and I write about them in ways to inform other people to notice them. For example, I'm spending a lot of time writing about the Olympics lately and if I do say so myself, I'm not your typical sports writer. I don't write about only people who win gold medals. I try to notice the less observed story and make other people aware of it. What about you? How do you describe your job if you're a writer?

I never say I'm a writer, because that doesn't really tell anyone what I do. I would rather call myself an 'informative writer' or an 'informative article writer'. I write informational and instructional articles, product reviews and some autobiographical pieces, all of which I think are in some way 'informative'. I know someone with a blog called 'e-writer', which I think is another good way of describing someone who writes only for the internet. I think from you could be called an 'observational writer'.
