We spent a month in Italy and it's beautiful! My husband has distant cousins there, in Sicily, and they are wonderful. We had such a good time. I have started posting a few photos on my profile, but we took eight thousand (actually more) photos. So I have a lot of organizing to do!! LOL I am back and ready to chat again on myLot!!!

I agree Italy is beautiful as is Sicily. I am sure you enjoyed Palermo, Messina, Etna, Trapni and Mount Erice, even perhaps Selinunte. I have lived in Sicily for 8 years and it is absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to seeing your photos. Ciao!

I am glad that you really enjoyed your month in Italy. I think that Italy is one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Europe. I like its attractive old architecture, sunny weather and the delicious fruits that it grows. So far in my life I have been to the amazing city of Venice with all its pretty canals and interesting old buildings. I have also been the beautiful island of Sardinia. In the future I hope to take my older son to Rome because he is fascinated by history. I would so enjoy going to explore the area around Naples, like Sorrento and the island of Capri. I would love to go to the island of Sicily and pop over to some of the tiny islands just off its coastline. Welcome back to My Lot and happy traveling

wow! my life long frustration is to go to italy---anywhere in italy. it does not matter if it is in rome, venice, florence, naples or whatnot, i really want to steep myself in the italian culture. to be honest, i envy you right now. is sicily that one near the sea? i want to visit the vatican, throw a coin in the trevi fountain, eat gelato, enter the colosseum, well, in other words, live la dolce vita. i have seen and read articles regarding the country but i have never been there---well, not yet.
