House of Wax--If he Survived |
|
Okay...anyone who saw the movie knows what I'm talking about...if you havent let me, real quick, explain it.
One of the characters is COMPLETELY (100% of his body) covered in hot wax so he becomes a "living" figure in the Wax Museum. One of his friends finds him, realizes it's really hsi friend under all the wax, and he's still alive...so he starts peeling the wax off. But when he takes the wax off the guys skin comes with it--b/c the wax was so hot it melted to the skin and they basically became one.
So what I started thinking about is, what if...SOME HOW...his surviving friends had gotten him out of the building, and he was still alive under all that wax at the end, when all the police are there any everything s over? I was thinking how there would be ABSOLUTLY no way that he coould be saved anyways...right? There isn't some way they could get all that wax off him without killing him in the process right?
So after me and my sis watched this on tv I told her, after telling her everything I just shared with you, that I think that would be a situation that would call for one of the cops to put a bullet in his head right there.
Please don't think I"m evil for saying that. All I can think is, they couldn't get the wax off-he would starve, become dehydrated and prob. be in a whole lot of pain the last few days he could stay alive like that! If there was a way he could survive getting all the wax (and all his skin!) ripped off I wouldn't think that, but there's just no way, right?

2. brimia (6187) | 1 year ago | yeah, it was pretty nasty. I wonder if they put him in a freezer for a little while the wax might crack off...maybe some surgeons could help...it probably wouldn't be pretty:-p
| |
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | Yeah I guess surgeons could do something...make it so he could open his mouth..give him feeding tubes while they try to remove the rest of the wax of his body but...even if they did that successfully without killing him...he would have no skin! You can't live without skin..too much infection lol. Or you think they could make skin to cover his entire body?

brimia (6187) | 1 year ago | sure...it's a movie so why not?;-)

3. kitten1954 (1120) | 1 year ago | I haven't seen this movie, but what a plot for a writer.
I can see where you are heading in this discussion and I agree with you that it would be kinder to give this guy euthanasia. If he can respond to prople he probably would request it anyhow because his death would be very long and very painful.

LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | The movie was really disturbing x.x Not really worth watching. It's very haunting and...just a lot of freaky violence! I shouldn't say it isn't worth watching though...I think a lot of movie goers would enjoy it.
He couldn't really respond. All he could do was move his eyes (not blink or anything...just look side to side/up and down.) His mouth was waxed shut, his hands and legs were all waxed like he was in a sitting position. But oh...my gosh! Felt so sorry for that character!
Thanks for response!:)

4. 4mymak (1429) | 1 year ago | i think the character could not have survived (must've died) after his whole body is covered by hot wax...?? dont think any man could survive such high temperatures burning his skin.. for such a long period of time... waiting for the wax to harden...
... scary thought..
| |
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | Well in the movie they had him still alive after the wax was ready for display x.x When his friend touched his cheek (just thought it was a life like figure) his eyes moved...and his friend started peeling off the wax and...well skin came with it and it wasn't pretty! x.x

5. enfieldian (166) | 1 year ago | Hi there
I have never seen the film but from your description, I liken this to Shirley Eaton in the James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. Shirley Eaton was playing Goldfinger's (Gert Fobe) girlfriend. She had a romp with Mr Connery and Goldfinger found out and painted her body gold. This caused her to suffocate in the film. In reality they left a small spot on her back allowing the skin to breath.
If someone is covered in wax the skin, which is an organ, could not breathe and again this would incur suffocation. Which version are you referring to the 1953 film with Vincent Price or 2005 version with Elisha Curthbert?
Best wishes Steve

|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | I didn't know being painted gold could make you sufficate...interesting.
I am talking about the 2005 version, I haven't seen the original. Not sure I'd want to after seeing the remake. Just the whole thing gives me the creeps.

7. saundyl (4283) | 1 year ago | If i recall correctly it wasnt that he was covered in hot wax only the guy injected his veins with it as well. It wouldnt be possible to save him.
This movie REALLY bugged me. Right after watching it my boyfriend's stuffy nose cleared and i couldn't hear him breathing anymore and i woke up in a panic after having a bad dream about the dumb movie and thought he was a wax dude.
| |
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | I don't remember him putting wax in his veins...Jared Padeleki's? Or maybe they did that in the original one? I just don't recall that x.x But I don't really want to watch it again to find out...lol. Wouldn't putting wax in someones veins kill them almost instantly?
Wow! That would be creepy! Esk!!!

|
saundyl (4283) | 1 year ago | i dont remember the names of the people i just remember that part freaked me out (of course i could be wrong cause i spent alot of the time with my hands over my eyes and my boyfriend trying to uncover my eyes)
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | LOL! That's how it is in my family. I'm always covering my eyes at the bloody parts. I don't like them.
| |
|
|
saundyl (4283) | 1 year ago | I spend most of my time with my eyes covered during scary movies and then i STILL have nightmares. My boyfriend has a tendancy to hold my hands away from my eyes and make me watch he says its no fun watching a scary movie if you cant see.
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | lol! My friends and my dad tell me that all the time! They always wonder aloud when i'm around..."why do I take you to these if you spend the whole movie with your eyes closed?" lol. But I still like scary movies! I like being scared, and suspenseful...I just don't like gore.

8. aisaellis22 (3530) | 1 year ago | Gosh! I have watched this movie too and it's terrifying. I just can't stand to see how the predator killed his prey. It's almost the same as Saw movies. Paris Hilton is there too kissing some black guy. I just don't like the ending because it's unresolved and I think there would be a new killer in town again.
In your question, I don't really think there's anyway that the wax could get off his body without hurting him or worst killing him.
| |
| |
|
|
LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | Yeah this movie was really creepy and bad. I prefer to be scared by movies without a ton of gore and crap. I like the thriller/suspense scary movies. Blood and guts just ruin a movie for me.
Yeah I decided to ask my dad about this. He's a doctor so I figured he would be the best person to ask lol. He said that even if plastic surgery...and fake skin the guy wouldn't have been able to survive because we need skin (real skin) on our bodies to live. So if in removing the wax, all his skin would come with it, and he would eventually die, whether or not he was covered with artificial skin or not. So knowing this, I think a bullet in the head would be EXTREMELY humane. (again, I'm not a violent person and I don't like death lol)
| |
|
|
aisaellis22 (3530) | 1 year ago | You are right. The guy would suffer too much and in the end, he will only die. So why let him suffer right. Anyway, I'm scared of blood and death.

9. morethanamolehill (827) | 1 year ago | If you want a good moral dilemma movie, try "Johnny Got His Gun" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067277/
It's an anti war movie and I think unfairly so since a person can be injured outside of war, too. But anyway it's about a guy who is injured by a landmine on the last day of WWII. (I guess that is supposed to increase the emotional impact). He has no arms no legs no sight hearing or smell. He is just a working brain trapped in a non functioning body. Metallica did a song about it called "ONE".

LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | Wow! That does sound like quite a disturbing story. It would defeniatly upset me, but it sounds very interesting too. Is it a movie that will make me cry? Sometimes I need a good crying movie lol. And is it realy graphic? I'm no good with blood and gore.
| |
|
|
morethanamolehill (827) | 1 year ago | No I would say it's real Graphic, It was made in 1971. But it probably would make you cry. it's kinda sad. and maybe even a little boring. But I think that was just to help us see what the guy is going through.
There are a few war scenes with grenades but you won't see any body parts flying or anything like that. It's supposed to be an anti war film but Really, someone could be injured the same way in a real bad car accident and I don't know of any case where someone did survive the kind of injuries this guy had in real life. But the morality of keeping the guy alive and what he is thinking is pretty interesting. He doesn't know if he is awake or dreaming.

LilyoftheThorns (3739) | 1 year ago | I watched the link to that video you gave me! I havent even seen the movie and I feel so sorry for that guy! What a terrible situation he's in! I think this movie would defeniatly disturb me, but I feel like it's one I need to see.
I am happy that it isn't very bloody and graphic!!
