i was out today and notice gas prices has came down.wonder for how long.right now its around 3.50 a gallon.knowing our luck it will stay down and suddenly shoot way up againg.

its juts like in germany no more permanent prices just up and down everyday like a wild monkey hehehe but maybe it will get better if Obama will win.

Thanks for the "best". Please don't forget that, for now, our votes are just about all we have, so we need to use them wisely to show politicians how much hot water they're getting into with the public. We can replace them, and they need to be reminded of it!

As long as petroleum prices are political pawns, we'll be paying more and more. Just think about it -- you're saying it's great that we've gone down to $3.50 or so a gallon. It wasn't long ago that this was a total horror to us all! I know I'm older than dirt, but I do remember 2 gallons for a quarter! OK, that was in the 1960s, but we certainly shouldn't have come to this from there. Then again, that was an era of peace and love, so how did we come to this from there? I'm definitely way too old to accept these things easily.

ours dropped about 60 cents in the last week or two thank gods.. its like 3.39 or something right now and hopefully it will at least stay that rate for awhile.. of course if it wants to go down i wont be mad

That is probably an accurate assumption. Part of the drop is in response to current lower per barrel prices and a drop in domestic demand. But since oil production is not at a pace to keep up with worldwide demand, at some point this will turn around. At that point it is basic supply and demand, and even if people in the US use less gasoline, the rate of its use in countries like China continues to increase, and this will offset any decrease locally.
