Stoke saw off mighty Aston Villa on Saturday

Stoke fans celebrate - Stoke beat Aston Villa 3-2 in the first home game of the ne Premier League season, defying the odds and doom merchants.

With a 3-2 win at the Britannia Stadium. So much for the doom mongers who said Stoke would not even score any points in the Premier League in their first season! Even in the first match when they were beaten 3-1 by Bolton they scored as many goals as the much-vaunted Manchester United! Good on yer Stoke, and keep it up.

early days I know, but a good win this week which has got to be good for morale. I heard that they had the highest crowd noise in the league ??

I wasn't able to go but a friend who did told me the atmosphere and noise level was incredible!
