Yes, I do know him. Basically the things you wrote about him are so simple. I know we all know his talents, educations, works and life in general. He may not be a sword man like Bonifacio but at least he is representing us as a calm person. Bonifacio is a warrior. Take care =)

Hi friend. Im so glad you know him. Yes, I wrote simple things bout him but there are more things he did that are admirable. I suggest the book of Leon Ma. Guerrero on the biography of Jose Rizal.
I have also read articles about Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping. I like his saying. "It doesnt matter if a cat is black or white as long as it catches mice."

I have studied his life eversince i was in elementary..it is part of our education as a Filipino and even until college one subject is dedicated to all his works...i know that he is a very exceptional man and we could have been better off now if he is still alive...just look at our gov. officials..they are all crooks.

I know him by heart. And I wish to teach his writings and life to my kids in the future. He is dubbed as our national hero for nothing. He sacrificed many things including his own life just for us to be freed from colonial rule. Happy posting.

Who wouldn't know him? i mean growing up at school, it seems like i always hear his name from our teachers. But i guess your question refers to knowing what he really did in our country. Who is he then? What makes him a national hero?.I think the way he had helped this country out from slavery of colonizers makes him one. And know what, it was all just with his pen.

Yes, Jose Rizal is actually the National hero of the Philippines and you are right about his being one of the first advocate of unity among the Filipinos. But unlike the other national heroes, he did not advocate violence as a means of attaining his dream of independence from the Spaniards. He is also known for his looking at the youth as the Hope of the Fatherland.

Hi WATARIKENJI.
No, I've not heard of Jose Rizal. A novelist and an opthalmologist? And a unifying personality also? He sounds like a very gifted and talented person. That is wonderful. Thanks for telling us about him.

Yes, I do know he is our national hero. And I am very much aware of it. Errr, now I just wondered if someone does not know that. I am aware of it even when I am still young.
