I just had a gentlemen knock on my door and asking me if I wanted to here some information about the scripture. Now I'm not really a religious person and I have no problem with how other practice there religious beliefs; but don't come knocking on my door and try to sell your believes to me. To me religion is something you find on your own. Not by someone knocking on your door like a vacuum salesmen.

I agree with you so much on this one. It is a huge pet peeve with me. I find it hard to be rude to these people because they generally are very polite and kind and they do believe they are doing what God intended them to do. So I do hear them out and all but to be perfectly honest....I find it intrusive and truth is....I am not at all interested...not at all. When I think it about it, is it not rude to just knock on someone's door unannounced and not even knowing the person. It is kind of pushy...right? When I was living with my ex, we had 6 children between us and we worked opposite shifts. If you can imagine, our "alone" time was precious and few. I can't even tell you how many time these door knockers interupted a rare and much needed moment of quality time between us. We could not ignore the knocking because we locked the doors and some of the kids were older and we just never knew...talk about a mood killer. They need to come up with another tactic to spread their word.
