Do you believe that Jesus is coming back?  |

|  I don't know if you are a Christian or not, I'm not even going to try to persuade you to answer this or to believe in what I believe but here is my question.. Do you believe that Jesus is coming back? My answer is YES, He is coming back. He said in Revelation 22.. "Behold, I am coming soon!"
Jesus said a parable in Matthew 25: "At that time, the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. "At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' "Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' " 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' "But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. "Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'
"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
We do not know the day or the hour when Jesus is coming back. I'm telling you that not many will believe and many will be deceived. But I encourage you, Jesus is still inviting you! The door is still open! (Revelation 4:1)
Jesus is coming back! He is coming back soon!

| |  I think he may have existed historically. Being Jewish on one side, I doubt that he was the messiah though.

| |  No he isn't coming back but it's a matter of faith i guess.
I believe in Jesus and find the thing he said as good guide lines to how to live your life.
I don't mean there was anything god blessing over him so there for I don't belielive he comes back.

| | Jesus has already come back in Spirit. He will also come back in the flesh when man finally destroyes himself. Jesus walks with us today and the 10th chapter of Acts proves it. | |  Yes I believe with all my heart that Jesus is coming back soon. As it was in the days of Noah so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. We are most likely the generation that will witness it for we are living in "Noah days" time where wickedness is at its height, where people are mostly godless, lovers of selves, lovers of money, lovers of pleasures, no reverence for the things of God.

| |  I think the story of the virgins cannot be taken literally. Even Jesus calls it a parable. It is just a story, which holds some other greater meaning that Christianity have never bothered about because it took everything literally.
Jesus died 2000 years ago. And in our world, the dead don't come back. It is against the natural law. So, I don't think he will come back. Christians, however, have been waiting for more than 2000 years for the second coming, and I guess they will wait till the end of Christianity.
Needless to say, I don't believe in the Second Coming.

| | The story of the virgins is a parable. And yea, you got it right. And I guess all take it as a parable. Agreed that the dead don't come back to live. Ancient knew that as much as we know now that basic fact. And when they said that they knew exactly what they were saying. And they said that cos they have witnessed the risen Jesus. Forty days later he vanished saying that he'll be back. I believe in Second Coming cos his first coming is true, specially his resurrection. But I would say that if resurrection is proved to be false, then as Paul said Christian faith is futile. | | | |
