Do You Or Someone You Know Have Asperger's Syndrome?=^..^=

I've had this friend for a little over 2 years now and just a couple of months ago we both learned that she has Asperger's Syndrome. This explains a lot and it helps me to have more patience with her.
If you or someone you know has the condition how do you handle it? Do you talk about it amongst each other? Do you find that it takes a considerable amount of patience on your part? On both your parts?
Any input anybody can give me, including pointers on how to deal with it, would be so greatly appreciated!

I really would like to help you on this one. Unfortunately, I couldn't possibly do this because I have to admit that I personally know nothing about this Asperger's Syndrome. I'm definitely sorry but honestly, this is the first time I've heard of such illness or disease.
The opportunity of surfing the internet for this subject is quite difficult as I only have a limited time for using the company's computer and internet. As previously mentioned in several discussions here, I still don't have my own computer but my husband and I are planning to purchase a computer set before our daughter starts schooling about a couple of years from now. In fact, it's barely an hour before I finally head home to my own family. But I do hope that some mylotters will be able to help you on this matter.
But if this serves as a consolation, I absolutely believe that everyone must have patience and try to understand one another's predicament and situation. It's easy to be judgmental but it's hard to be humane. And above all else, try to have faith in God that He can help us in everything we encounter but we must be ever patient in this journey called life.

Amen to that, mykmari! As I stated before not all of us can fit perfectly into society and I definitely include myself! I've always been that square peg.
I'm so glad to hear you'll be getting a home computer soon. That will make it so much easier for you.

I just looked up the term. I had actually never heard of it before. No I have never been close to anyone with any type of autism. That's good that you are trying to be more patient with her. I'm sure it can be quite frustrating. I wish I had some advise to give you, but I just don't. Good luck to you though.

Thanks, sketch! I really appreciate it. I'd never heard of it myself until my friend told me about it. Then I looked it up on the Internet. They say that Isaac Newton and Einstein probably had the condition themselves. One of the main symptoms that I pick up on is the inability to show empathy or sympathy. It's almost as if the person is on auto pilot. Don't get me wrong. She's a good person with a good heart, but, it does make it hard to hold conversations with her at times.
We all need friends, don't we? Not all of us can fit into society perfectly...........me included! That's why I'm on Disability myself. I've always been that square peg so I can't criticize her.
