This is indeed a gorgeous day here, with the sun shining brightly. And it's a beautiful day in this nation when we can have an election with two people that we might not ordinarily see on the ballots. Obama has made it to be the nomination as the democratic choice for President. I really thought Hillary Clinton would be in that spot.

Then there is the history making choice of Sarah Palin by McCain to be his vice-president. This is the first woman ever to be on any republican ticket. I believe she has added a great deal to the ticket. Palin is young, experienced beyond her years and that is executive experience, something that neither Obama or Biden have. She is outspoken, unequivocally able to stand up to the politicians that consider themselves above reproach. In other words, she appears to be a gutsy lady! I know some people have expressed their disbelief in his choice of Palin, but I think McCain has outdone even himself and he's sure making people's heads turn!

Yes, this is a beautiful day and I'm happy to call myself an American!!
