Although Michael Jackson's 50th birthday went largely unremarked on Friday, I would still like to wish him a very happy one. Good Morning America showed a lot of class by devoting a telephone interview with Michael on the morning of his birthday. No matter what anyone else feels I think that he has been maligned and treated unfairly by many people. Putting all that aside, you can't take away the many contributions to music that are credited to this man. He has been an innovative pioneer in music and a legend in his time. I particularly liked the part of the interview where he said that his best is yet to come. He is a caring and loving father to his three children and says that he is happy to see them having the kind of childhood that he missed out on himself. Happy Birthday, Michael!

Wow! 50! It doesn't seem five minutes that he was that youth in the Jackson Five, despite all the controversy that surrounded Michael Jackson you can't fail to be impressed by his fabulous voice, the mega hits he has produced over the years and the sensation he has brought to the popworld. There will always be doubts about him for sure, but it doesn't take away the fact that he is very talented. I think he has matured a lot and settled down to a calm life. I still play his hits even now and he sure has rocked the world in more ways than one. One of my favourite tracks of his is Scream the duet with Janet Jackson, brilliant for getting the frustrations out when you play it loudly (although not to loud to upset the neighbours!!!) Happy Birthday Michael!

50! Oh my goodness, seems like just yesterday my sister and I were jamming to his musical while "draggin Douglas street" in Wichita, KS. That must mean I'm turning......40! Time sure does seem to fly as you get older. Anyway, Happy Birthday Michael!

Michael Jackson is truly an icon, in as far as creative arts are concerned. he is a living legend, a huge one for that. I do agree that he has been terribly maligned and unfairly treated by his adversaries and those jealous of his accomplishments. It was nice to hear of his 50th birthday although it was a quiet one.

I happen to agree with you Kercelia. I think he is one of the truly great entertainers of all time. Superlative is a word that leaps to mind. I so much enjoy watching him sing and dance. I see a gentle loving man who has been hurt so many times in so many ways.

I do agree with you that even the accusations that have been out there against the man, you still can't take away the contributions and influences Michael Jackson has made on music. Still, I can't look away from the accusations. I understand that some people would just like to cash in on Michael's fortune, well, the fortune he had, but to me there are just too many people saying the same thing for it to be overlooked. In my heart I hope its a lie, but common sense tells me otherwise.
