My first impression of both Korean and Japanese are based on dramas.
The first korean drama that I watched was (Tomato), which Kim Hee Sun acted the leading role. Since then, I considered korean guys as a legendary. They are very polite, so far as I am concerned. Also, I admire them to some extent though I don't even know them.
On the other hand, the first Japanese drama that I watched was Tokyo elevator lady.
The drama didn't impress me so much though. I just thought that Japanese men are such chauvinist, whereas Japanese women are in a helpless way.
Dramas are just fictional dramas. However, they do reflect people's behaviors and influence the audicences's impression.

In my freshman year, there were some korean and Japanese in my university. I couldn't wait to know them. If only I had a chance!
One day, I just went back to my dorm feeling something would happen. At the time, a guy was teasing a korean girl.
" How handsome am I! People think that I look like Bae Yong Jung who is very popular", a bad guy said! There was no doublt that the innocent korean girl was very scared. He made her cry. However, the bad guy was content with such a "success" and continued to tease her. I bursted out with anger to see it.
"U are just so bothersome! Go away! Else, I will call the campus police!" I yelled at him!
I had know these bad students well. Bothersome guys did bothersome things. However, they were actually coward. The korean girl didn't know that though...

Ever since then, the korean girl and I became very good friends. Also, I knew lots of her korean friends including her brother, who impressed me most! According them, I am sure korean are very polite, just as the drama goes! Compared to people in some other countries, they are generally conservative. By the way, their English accent is not so decent. It is common that they confuse the word L and R. Besides, the girl's brother was so childish! He didn't know which clothes suit him. Also, when he lost his glasses, he didn't know how to get anther one. He always forgot his meals. Since his sister went bad to south, I had acted as his NUNA (sister). I helped him how to grow up! It didn't work though! Lol

The first Japanese that I know named LUOLINZHENGCHUAN! It is a long name, isn't it! He was very very lazy! His favoriate food was ra-men. Besides eating ra-men, all her time almost spent on sleep. U know what, it is said that koala sleep 20 hours every day. Now,he is not alone! Both koala and LUOLINZHENGCHUAN are blery-eyed all the time. So, he got bad marks for his study. But his English is pretty good. It is weird, hul? Maybe this is innate.

Later, I know more korean as well as Japanese. Sure, there are few bad guys. However, as a whole, they are awesome!

Do u know some korean or Japanese?
How much do u know them?

I don't know if my experience with Korean and Japanese persons applies here or not. I have known 3 Japanese and one Korean. One Japanese was born in California, USA. This was before I met the man who is now my husband. The man's name was Paul Tanzawa. He was in the US Navy, stationed at Norman, Oklahoma. I was working for the telephone company in Oklahoma City. I met Paul at a dance. He was the nicest, most polite young man I had ever met. During world War II, the US sent all Japanese living in the US, even those born here, to relocation camps for the duration of the war. Paul was just a child at the time. Although he remembered what a hardship that was for his family, he held no ill will for our country's actions. He was even serving that same country in their armed forces. The other two Japanese I've known fairly well were spouses of US military men. They, too were kind and especially polite, even when I, because of ignorance, was not polite to them. The only Korean that I have ever known well was my boss for a period of about 3 years. I can't say that I've ever had a better boss. He was soft spoken, polite, respectful and supportive.

I had met two Japenese men.One is my cousin's husband and one is my friend's boyfriend.I don't like my friend's boyfriend.During our first meeting when my friend introduced me to him, he asked what kind of job i had.I have three businesses at that time which i personally run but i never told him but instead i said i was jobless. It seems he turned me down when he knew that.I could tell the way he talked to me.He understimated being jobless. But my cousin's husband was different.I stayed in their house for a week and he was very kind to me and my daughter. They both totally different in terms of attitude in dealing with other people.I guess it doesn't depend where you from or what race you have about your attitude but it depends on the person him/herself.I like Korean tv drama shows.I had seen them and i like some od their stories but i never meet one personally.
