I do the opposite, not sad songs... but power ballads, you know like "what about love", "alone" and stuff like that, I dont know why... I just feel free to yell and let my heart out, but sometimes I like to hear classic rock or even techno music and start jumping around, LOL

Dear friend,
I mostly like nice slow musics with good rhythm and orchestra. May be a slow good song. Not every slow songs but there are some selected songs especially Hindi songs of Kishore Kumar and Muhammed Rafi. There are two singer of India. They were famous singers during the 60's and 70's. Their songs are even going better now.

Oddly enough, when I feel troubled I listen to heavy metal or new age music. The heavy metal is usually what I listen to when there is some energy to spend and the new age music when I just want to be contemplative about how I am feeling. If I want to cheer up, I just throw on ABBA or the BeeGees. Who can be depressed when they are listening to Staying Alive?

I have a video of a John Farnham concert from the 80's.
Many times[almost 100] I have watched this video to 'lift my spirits' or just as a feel good experience.
Beacause Farnham is probably the best live entertainer I've seen I am biased, but the songs are fantastic, and he really knows how to work an audience.
Most people love Whispering Jack, and indeed John Farnham himself.

The most uplifting songs I can think of are by a punk band called Millencollin - Birdie and Fingers Crossed. Their lyrics are really inspiring - rather than being cheesy, 'you're wonderful, you're beautiful' they're more about knowing that even though you've failed in the past, you can still succeed if you want to and have people around you believing the same.
They always inspire me to take on the world - at least until I listen to them again!

When I'm depressed I rather listen songs the lift my heart to cheerful mood but I admit there are times that I do listen those songs that I've treasured in my fave book then after that I scaled all the reasons why should I be felt depressed for what might be the reason then after that tear may fall but that would be the last tears I'm going to cried out for I must move on and say who is he to be depressed for his nothing but socks....
