Not in America. Here they can have as many children as they want. I want three. But I really wish they would stop people who can't afford them from having them. If you can't afford to feed them and clothe them on your own paycheck, not welfare that i'm paying for with my tax money, then you should NOT have them. The more children you have the more you should have to work if you don't make enough, then don't do anything to risk having another child. Bring them into the world in an environment where they can be well taken care of. I wish the government could moderate that a little better.

Well, I think people who can't afford them mostly just have accidents, but they do not want to abort them.

What do they do if you have another baby? Do they take it away or what? I think it's a reasonable thing to do because it is realistic that the whole country needs to have food.

You know that my country is the second largely populated one next t your's.But we don't have any such rule like one child for one family. There are many awareness campaigns.Nowadays people are realizing more people means less progress and cut down the child birth by themselves.Education and awareness is more powerful and longer lasting than the rigid rules I think.

No, we don't have that here in the USA. Which is a good thing because between my husband and me, we have five kids.

hi hwangaa I almost wish we did but no I live in the Us and we have no limits on how many children a couple can have. sometimes when I see families with six or seven kids who are strugglingto feed them and care for them I wish that we did have some mandates. I feel strongly that you should not bring more kids into the world than you can afford to feed.I guessinstead we have welfare which is a poor substitute for using common sense and not having more kids than you can afford. we do have a number of birth control devices and a lot more people should use them.

No, the United States does not have any restrictions on the number of children we have. Hopefully we make wise choices and only have the number we can care for. We need to respect the resources like land, water and air. However, I think our most valuable resource is our people. It would really limit us if we could only have one child.

Hi fwangga! I have heard about your country's one child policy. Although, there are advantages on having this policy especially concerning the population of one country. We don't have that kind of policy in our country. We have that freedom to choose how many children we would want. We can have as many children as we like as long as we can support all of them and give them a good life. However, there are some couples here in our country who are very irresponsible in planning their family which is having more children which they can not sustain. Take care always..God Bless!

Can I just ask what happens if you were to have more than one child, what happens if your wife was to find out she was pregnant with a second child? I have heard this rule before, but could never understand how this could be made to work. In my country we have no limits on the amount of children we can have, maybe we should, maybe it would have solved a lot of our countries problems. I think though that just being allowed to have one child per family is a bit mean, two would be much better.

Such a rule or law has not been formed or passed in my country. People are free to have how ever many children they want. Here too we have a massive population in fact one of the highest in the world but nothing of this sort so far. For those in your country who wanted to have at least 2 kids its sad for them. They must be freaked out with this rule i presume.
