He's finally back to work after vacation.

We had a very nice week off. We had company for the beginning part of the week, then we spent the rest of the week mostly just vegging and playing online. Although I wasn't looking forward to him going back to work, I am a little glad to have him out of the house. I enjoyed having him home to spend more time with him, but I just wasn't getting anything done with him home. He seemed to totally mess up my plans and routines. Not on purpose of course, it's just that I'd rather be spending time with him than doing trivial things that I normally do when he's not home, such as get on Mylot all day, lol. Do you notice that when your spouse is home you spend less time doing things you would normally do?

Glad you had a good week together, but it is nice when they go back to work. I think routine just goes out of the window, my plans and routines always change when he is off and it is nice but I like to be doing what I normally do!! He had three weeks off not so long ago and then he is off again for a week at the end of the month.

The longest my husband has ever been home in 1 stretch was 8 weeks when he lost his job. That was 4 years ago, and I ended up getting a part time job to help out while he was unemployed, but it drove me nuts. He wouldn't help around the house or do anything, and he was in a bad state of mind so wasn't overly interested in looking for work for a few weeks. I was so happy when he went back to work after that. We really needed the break from each other. This past week was great though, and since we had that week together, I feel good today. Usually when he's at work I sit and stare at the clock and count down the hours until he gets home. But since I had this past week with him, I'm not overly concerned about when he's going to get home, and I'm just enjoying the quiet alone time I have right now.
