Have you ever melted the bottoms off a frying pan?

I'm having a rough day and its the kind of day where I should have stayed in bed. My puppy stole my library book and ate it..i left it sitting on the trunk of my car while i fed him this morning he sure chewed that up fast.
I was late for work...I had to buy a top when i got to work because i forgot to change outa my pj top...No sense wearing a bright purple shirt that claims i need more sleep all day.
Then tonight I was cooking supper and my mom calls...she was giving me heck for something and stressed me out...so while i was cooking i was distracted and i apparently turned the burner WAY up and i melted to bottom right off the pan..and sealed it to the burner...
THEN i must have turned on the oven instead of the other burner for the potatoes and i melted the handle off my other frying pan. So i had potatoes for supper and thats is cause i now need 2 new frying pans.
Have you ever managed to do this? Any other bad day stories?

This sounds like you are having an incredibly rough day. I have not melted any skillets. I have heated grease so hot that it has had a flash fire. I have put plastic things down on hot electric burners. I have burned kettles dry. I have exploded boiling eggs. I am not doing any of these things today, however, so we are safe. I hope things get going well for you now that all of that is out of your system.
