Do you think Alfred Hitchcock is as frightening as some of the sci-fi horrors ?

In his day Hitchcock was considered the best. Do you think he still is as frightening as these new sci-fi horror films that are around today ?

Hi. Yes I believe he is in some of his movies. It's hard for me to answer if I think that his movies are as frightening as some of the sci-fi horror films that are around today. They are two totally different genres. Alfred Hitchcock's films are more psychologically terrifying and sci-fi films of today are just mostly full of a bunch of weird (starting to lookalike) creatures. A lot of the dialogue is so complicated to follow that unless a monster is jumping out, I get bored.

I don't think frightening is what I would call his movies. The tone is different than today's horror movies, I'll give you that. He's still a genius at creating suspense and the right atmospheres. Today's movies don't really try, lol. They focus more on the gruesome details. And the acting is usually bad too.

I would definitely say that Hitchcock's movies are more suspenseful and chilling than most modern-day horror movies which just seem to rely on blood and guts to thrill a teenage audience.
I prefer older movies, or ones from countries that aren't America, as they tend to be of a better quality, and actually have some scare factor to them.
