I have a friend that shoplifts.....everything. He's never worked, and for as long as I've known him, has had every electronic device known to man and he got them by stealing. The amazing thing is he's never been caught. So my question is this, how many of you have ever shoplifted, and do you still do it.

LOL his luck will run out one day! I used to shoplift, I was eighteen at the time so I am going back seventeen years now. I was a single parent and was strapped for cash all the time and so I used to do it to survive. I cannot make excuses for my behaviour, I know it was wrong but at the time it did not matter, at the time I could not have cared less about what I was doing and I certainly did not feel guilty about it. I never got caught, and as my circumstances changed and I no longer needed to do it, I stopped.

Okay this is what's crazy about this, everyone keeps saying that he'll get caught one day, and normally I would agree, but he's been doing it for ten years and not one thing has happened. I would think that by now his photo would be posted up, but there never is one.

Some people are lucky at certain things though, so maybe then this is what he is lucky at! Thats a good run, ten years! I would not dare do it now, I lost my bottle for anything like that a long time ago.

It sounds to me like your friend has a sickness! I would try to get him some help before he gets into some serious trouble.
I once stole a bracelet from a store when I was about 13 yrs old. Just a stupid dare from some other kids. I didn't get caught, but didn't want to ever do it again.

I would agree about the sickness thing. He loves to go out driving all day on "recon" of stores. It's actually very strange. I refuse to go places with him out of fear that he will be recognized and then I will be associated with him and labeled a thief.

Never had done such in my lifetime. I feel it is really bad to do this thing. I think your friend may have behavioral problem on how to deal with this thing. If he is not selling anything that he steals then maybe your friend is kleptomaniac. This may become serious if left untreated and sooner or later he might just get caught from doing this.

No - I would not steal anything for several reasons - the first being that no thief will enter heaven.
Secondly - stealing is a very selfish way to live, and it costs the places that they steal from a lot of money, which gets passed on to the rest of of shoppers!

I really do not take shoplifting as a hobby let alone a means for living! It is not fair that everyone else is working hard and we have people who live by shoplifting?
I believe your friend needs help, and you shouldn't be supporting him either.
In Malaysia, shoplifting is considered a serious offence, and if caught, it is not the police you should be fearful of, but the public who sometimes might just lend a beating.
As for your question, the answer is NO! I have never shoplifted before and don't see myself doing it.

When I was seventeen I used to shoplift Yugioh cards from two Wal Marts and a Kmart and when I was on my last trip because I decided I did not want to do it anymore I got caught, and I was glad I got caught because I did community service to make up for my bad act,and I learned a powerful lesson and I think that everyone gets caught eventually if they shoplift or do any other crime.

Honestly I'v have stole a few toys/candy and other small things as a kid but nothing major. I know people who do and you'd be surprised how easy it is to steal most things but most of the time all the good electronics/games are locked behind glass..but not everywhere it's all a matter of scoping a good target. Also your friend sounds like a clepto no offence but he will probably get caught soon because he dose'nt know when to stop..,That is if my assumtions about him are right..maybe not, even if he does it'll just be a slap on the wrist anyways.
