We had homemade soup for dinner tonight and it was soooooo good. It is a tomato base veggie beef soup. It has carrots, potatos, onions, celery, tomatos, and pieces of steak cut into bite size pieces. We also put in tomato juice, and tomato sauce in it.
We are going to have cupcakes for dessert. Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing. Yummy!

Oh wow that sounds soooo good to me too. And vanilla cupcakes with chocolate are my favorites :) Save me some I'm on my way :)
Opps not much gas in van maybe better just go upstairs and make a couple grilled cheese sandwiches - maybe a cup of tomato soup to go with.

I know that started with my Mom way back when I was little - she seemed to always make tomato soup and grilled cheese together. I went for both and actually cooked and ate already. Was going to try to get one more of these articles done tonight but don't think I'm going to make it. I always seem so much more productive early in the morning.

I know what you mean I am a morning person too. If it needs to get done I do it in the morning or else there is a good chance it isn't going to get done. lol.

That does sound good. I have some clam chowder that I doctored up with extra fresh celery and onions and kielbasa to give it some meat! I'm pondering whether or not to snip off some of the lovely fennel that is growing in the AeroGarden to use as a garnish or just shred some basil and let the fennel grow I've got to plant some more of that stuff. It took forever to sprout but now it looks and tastes so good. Actually, I blogged about it recently:

Oh clam chowder sounds good too - haven't had that in ages. Never thought of adding fennel or basil but now you mention either sound good.

Yeah, I was clueless and didn't know the fennel leaves could be used that way until I recently threw a few in the sprouter next to the fenugreek (which we love and keep sprouting on the counter all the time) and they grew. The plant just looked so inviting that I had to snip off a bit to taste. A little online research indicates that there are aromatic oils in the fennel leaves that aid digestion. There is a nice article about fennel on The World's Healthiest Foods site:

MyLot is driving me crazy tonight. I just came from a discussion about how to cook and serve carrots. Then add your soup and cup cakes. Come on friends, I am trying to cut down on what I eat. You have a yummy sounding fall supper.

Yummy!
This sounds delicous.
My wife makes the best homemade chicken noodle soup.
Also a great beef noodle soup as well.
I have never thought about adding tomato juice to a soup as a base.
The next time she makes her beef noodle I'll remind her of this.
We usually add tomato paste and or sauce only.

Wow sweet that really sounds yummy! You just made me really
hungry! I know I would really like that soup and I'm not
really a big soup eater. That is more of a meal soup, kind
of like a stew which is one of my very favorite meals to
cook as the weather gets cooler. In fact, that sounds
almost like my recipe except that I don't like celery and
I add corn instead! And I love cupcakes. I wish I could be
there now!
