A Pig is Still a Pig!! |
| |
| Obama's latest remark. You can put lipstick on a pig," he said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin's joke even if it's not what Obama meant. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years." http://news.yahoo.com/s/a... Pretty nasty but hey if her lipstick remark is all that can be picked on regarding Palin after a week of deep digging into her life then she must not have any really big skeletons in her closet. I honestly am getting pretty disgusted with both the Republican and Democratic campaign maneuvers. When are we going to hear some actual plans for solving the real issues which affect each and every one of us? So far all I have heard are lofty typical political promises. Can anyone tell me what really sounds like a good achievable plan? Something that will help me...Ms. Middle class living on a fixed income or a normal every day working class family . | | | | | |

| | I'm really glad 0bama got a big laugh for this. It will encourage him to do it some more. This will cause him to lose the election. Such remarks are not Presidential and people will not vote for the person making such remarks repeatedly. People know we do not need a smart arse in the white house. 0bama is on the road to getting people to laugh at him rather than vote for him. Good for you, 0bama! | | | | | | |

| | thickchic, To be fair, Obama certainly has a chance to win the election. Also, to be fair, writing concerning mistakes Obama is making in his campaign, is not hate. Falsely accusing people of hate, by admonishing them to not hate, is hate itself. | | | |

| | Hello Whiteheather, I'm in full agreement with Redyellowblackdog. If Obama stays on this 'attack Palin' track, he will be responsible for 'defeating himself' in this election -- which is certainly his prerogative. Sen. Obama has defied tradition by sullying himself in attacks against the V.P. candidate. This is a 'newbie' mistake, which not only highlights his lack of political experience and savvy, it relegates John McCain as the more mature, more focused, more 'presidential' candidate. It is a foolhearty move that David Axelrod (the Team Obama lead strategist) should be definitively discouraging. Hmmm, since I don't have access to the inner workings of Team Obama, that last sentence may be wholly out-of-line. For all I know David Axlerod might be advising Sen. Obama to avoid this 'amateurish' mistake, and it may well be that Sen. Obama is ignoring the advice of his advisers. Who knows? Either way, it is a significant error in judgement on Sen. Obama's part. Also, I would be remiss in not pointing out that this is an exellent example of the stark contrast between Sen. Obama's rhetoric, and his actions. He spoke so loftily of 'a different kind of politics' and of himself as a 'different kind of politician' -- yet he shows himself to be on par with any 'old-styled, hack, politician'. If the voter is to employ the sage advice of judging a person's deeds, rather than their words, then I suspect that Sen. Obama is either wittingly or unwittingly disappointing a great many of those who chose to support him because of his earlier image. Can anyone honestly suggest that the "lipstick on a pig" remark is one that a 'different kind of politician' would make??? To your highly applicable question about specifics Whiteheather -- you're absolutely 'spot on' in your point. If there's one unwavering truth about this election season it is that it's woefully lean on specifics. Americans have real, serious issues to address: - The potential of decades of irresponsible energy policy to bankrupt this nation. - The solvency of Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. - The 2nd highest business tax rate in the world -- which has driven so many jobs to foreign shores ... and the hard, cold reality that additional tax increases on U.S. businesses will further drive those companies off-shore. - The unholy influence of special interests on our elected representatives, - The patent refusal by elected representatives to 'serve the people' instead of their own personal interests & pockets, - etc, etc, etc ... I'd say that it isn't a real stretch to suggest that he who first satiates the nation's hunger for specifics will be completing a 'change of address' card by early next year! | | | | | | |

| | Ladyluna, Great to see you back! I have to agree with both you and RYBDog on this! Usually the VP candidate is used to be the "attack dog" that shoots these kind of barbs! On another subject; I recently reached 500+ on the MyLot rating system and for a couple of days could copy and paste, so you can imaginw my chagrin when I logged in today to find myself at 490! Is this a regular practice of mylot or is there something I have done wrong and are being penalized for it? I have e-mailed MyLot but I have also e-mailed them before with no answer and don't really expect one this time. I just thought you might be able to enlighten me about this. | | | |

| | Greetings Sir Rodney, Thanks! I actually got back over the weekend, but had gobs of laundry to do, and a rather formidable pile on my desk at the office. First, let me congratulate you on reaching the 500 post mile marker. Then second, let me lament that milestone loss. Grrr, frustrating probably doesn't begin to describe your reaction. Sadly, I completely understand your incredulity at the prospect of having your inquiry addressed. I sure wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The good news is that regardless of the destination of those 10 posts (now 9), you'll soon be cutting & pasting with the best of 'em. If I had to guess, I'd suggest that the missing 10 posts may have gone by the wayside by way of a deleted discussion(s). What's especially frustrating is that it needn't even be a recent discussion(s). Since there is no notification given when a discussion is deleted, it might have been a discussion that is long off of your radar. Either way, you'll be doing the happy 'cut & paste' dance before you know it. Well done, Sir Rodney! | | | |

| | Look at the youtube video in a later post--Grampa has used the same expression numerous times himself. Even Huckabee told Hannity he'd have to cut Obama slack on this, that it was an old expression, and didn't believe it was directed toward any one person. I thought all you "conservatives" watched the Fox Noise Channel?! | | | | | | |

| | This link is a very good example how Barack Obama run one of his earlier campaign clearly is shows a person just how bad it really can get running against Barack Obama,so we have not seen the depth of Barack Obama in this campaign at least so far.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke64670GkZ8 Obama has called Hillary Clinton to help him on the campaign trail, she will start campaigning for Barack Obama this coming Sunday. I suppose Obama's new plan is to reel back in Hillary Clinton's supporters,if it works who can say at this point,I think women in general are smart enough to know Barack Obama is giving the time of day to Clinton because he now needs her to help him,as a women he would just have to drown, don't do user. People that have watched the Obama interviews on Fox News on the factor with Bill O'Railly it has been on issues and they will be talking about Obama questionable connects,Obama says he is guilty by association, but the question is can that be upheld when the connections have lasted 17-20 years,so Bill will be going in to this the next part of the interview which is this evening,I'm sure the first 4 parts of the interview is at you tube. At Obama Fox News Barack Obama tried to wiggle out of answers but he was in the Fox hot box and there is no wiggle room allowed,so far Obama has been questioned on drilling and tax plan worth wild viewing for sure. Not to defend one or the other ,I watch both canidates and I see the mud slinging is coming from the Obama camp and his supporter. | | | |
