can i call you "George"?

i used to call my friends "George" both male and female, boys and girls,small kids big kids, friends and strangers alike. i call my wife George also. for me this name George represents friendship, a ties, a relationship and a good name addressing people i don't even know their name, and people like it somehow, so wherever i go, people know me is calling me George also, and i call them George the same way, and it makes me popular among the people i work with by my name George..so can i call you George?

that's just fine with me...
i can let people call me whatever they want just as long as it doesn't offend me or could destroy me as a person... anyway you have stated the meaning of "george".. so it's not a problem..

It sounds like the equivalent of "Dude" or "Buddy". I wouldn't much care for it myself. My given name is Patricia; I grew up with Patty; changed it to Pat in high school and then went back to Patricia. It's a beautiful name and why my parents chose to call me Patty I'll never know. I mostly go by Pat these days but whenever I call someone with the church, doctor's office, schools or anywhere else (other than family and close friends) I call myself Patricia. I wouldn't want anyone calling me Dude, Buddy or even George. My husband calls me Dear, and I'm happy with that. But he is my husband and the term is more endearing than any of the other terms mentioned.
Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
