cat eats plastic

This cat is driving me nuts. If you leave foam toys around he will eat them and barf them back up. If you leave rubber toys around he will chew them up. If leave plastic bags around he slurps on them (or chews). Does anybody else have a plastic addict cat? Other than not leaving it around, is there any way to stop him from doing this?

I do not know how to stop a cat from eating or chewing on things they should'nt, if I did I would be able to stop my silly cat.
Jake will eat the peanuts that come in packagings. If I open a box and they are in there Jake acts like he has a box of gum drops. He also shreds the newpaper and want to chew on it. The silly cat is alway chewing
