How is FEMA handling the Ike clean up?

I am just wondering because it seems like they left a lot of people in the cold here in Louisiana after Gustav.
Even though Louisiana declared the area a disaster zone, FEMA isn't helping out a lot of people all because the hurricane only affected 1 state.

FEMA is pretty funny! They declaired all the counties around where i live disaster areas after tropical storm fay but they didnt include ours! Its nuts! I guess if enough people complain something will get done. our congress man tim mahoney said something about our county needing fema assistance but we havnet heard anything yet. its sad how they handle things. Just hang in there. Im sure they will get things done. if not then complain and get others to complain and im sure if enough complain they will do something. I wish there was something i could do to help but i have 3 kids id have to drag there with me and that would be to hard lol. Good luck! @sedel1027 (17846)

FEMA isn't my problem, but a lot of people around here are up in arms. Apparently, in our area some people still don't have power and - of course - can't store food. The only place handing out MREs isn't anywhere near here.
Don't feel bad, our parish wouldn't have been included on the FEMA list if it wasn't for the Governor of the state. If it was up to our parish president even the people who had damage to their homes wouldn't be getting any help.
I do have to say overall FEMA is being managed better (at least from what I can see), here they are only helping people who had damage to their property.

I'm not really sure. I have not heard any updates about it yet. I hope they do a better job than what they done with Katrina areas.
