from my clay, swamp of a garden, I actually harvested something. With the constant rain, this had been a challenge. The couple of weeks without rain were in the 80s which we normally have in July, but instead had in August. How did your garden do?

Well as for the vegetables, I only had 8 tomato plants and since they were in the front of the house where the hose is, they got some really good watering even though we had a dry summer..So my 6 y/o is busy picking tomatoes about every day..

Hey writersedge. Right now, I've only got a few herbs growing in my garden. I use them up and my husband has to keep re-planting! He is going to replant some herbs in October, so right now, I've just got rosemary and some Italian parsley. I would love to really get some cilantro going, but we've planted 2 or 3 plants of it at a time, and I still use them all up. They just fizzle out. Your garden is swampy and mine is sandy!!

If you took your sand and my clay, threw some compost in there, we could have a decent garden. The best herb garden I ever had was all compost. Rich, black and the herbs grew great and were incredible!
