I am a Muslim,I have learnt that everyone in the world have no Allah's power or God's power from the Koran. But why Holy Father in Vatican think that he himself has the Allah's power? I have read Holy Bible, but I didn't find foundation that Holy Father has the God's Power in Holy Bible? So if you are a Catholic or Christian or the persons who believe in other religions, what do you think about the pope or Holy Father in Vatican?

Wow, that's some misinformation you got there. The pope doesn't have God's power, nor does he claim to have it. He is just the highest religious authority on earth for the catholic church. There are high religious authorities in the muslim religion. It's in fact very similar in power.

The pope is suppose to be, God on earth, therefore, he should be able to do all the things God does. He has the power to change laws which even God doesn't do.

Wow, have been raised catholic, been to the Vatican, but nobody ever told me that. He is not God on earth. Supposed to be God's mouthpiece, yes, but not God on earth. Who ever told you that crap?

What I have learnt is from Middle Ages of Europe history. For example,in the Middle Ages of Europe the pope always want to rule the whole world, because the pope thinks he is on behalf of Allah, and the pope have rights to adjudge that whether a person is sinful or not, even can adjudge whether a person can go to heaven or not.For example, in the Middle Ages of Europe the pope sold Certificates of Atonement, if people bought that, the pope would say the person who had bought Certificates of Atonement were exempt from punishment. How can you explain it?

Greed and stupidity. Can't apply that to today. The muslims have stuff like that in their history, too. Just look at the recent history and all those terrorists and suicide bombers who think the are doing Allah's work by destroying non-believers. And all because one of the muslim leaders told them it is. Not everybody is without fault. Just shows you how human the pope really is. There are misinterpretations in both religions.

As to absolution from sins. Any priest can issue that. It's believed that confession absolves you from sins. Buying your way out just was a quicker way, lol. And of course a good way for a corrupt church to make money. It's called abuse of power and was put away with.

Do you really think that the guy who leads the prayer in your mosque or dictates the rules of your religious life is without fault? Yet it is the very same person and whoever is above him in the chain of command who come up with how your holy book is supposed to be interpreted. Both books are vague enough to leave plenty of room for malicious interpretation.

Most recently of course it was the terrorists who in the name of Allah killed and still plan to kill a lot of innocent people. And it's condoned by several muslim leaders, yet also frowned upon by several other muslim leaders. There are countries where the majority of the population is muslim. Some countries are very strict, others are more lenient. In some countries, woman have hardly any rights, can't go outside unless they are completely veiled, can't drive a car, and completely depend on their spouse, whom they didn't even get to select. All in the name of religion. Yet in another of such countries, woman don't have to veil their face or not be veiled at all, even have the right to vote, and freely drive around in cars. Some allow alcohol and the consumption of pork, others don't. Now, somebody is in charge of dictating those rules, which apparently get changed depending on who the religious leader happens to be and what his opinion is. Saudi Arabia and Iran, while relaxing the rules for a while, now enforce them strictly. All because some religious leader claims that this is Allah's will.

All I'm saying is there is corruption and misinterpretations that happened and still happens in both religions by the so called leaders who abuse their position as mouthpiece of God/Allah, even claim they are the closest to God/Allah. And yes, there have been popes in the past who claimed to be God on earth in order to push on people whatever they wanted, so did and apparently still do some muslim leaders. If you want to point out faults in a religion's past, wow, you really should look at your own first. Because your claim that this doesn't happen in the muslim world is very much off base and in fact is going on right now. Terrorists as martyrs, lol. Come on, if somebody high up on the ladder of religious leaders wouldn't tell those people that if they blow themselves up to kill the non-believers they would receive the highest honor from Allah, they plain and simply wouldn't do it. Are those leaders really qualified to make such a blanket statement. It's not in your holy book.

BTW, not all Christians accept the pope as their religious leader just the catholics. You might want to start to make that distinction. I'm sure you mind us Christians calling every Muslim a terrorist.

But it saddens me that this is apparently the teachings Muslims currently get. Not understanding but ridiculing other religions. But apparently the shortcomings of the Muslim religion are being neglected. Weird way of teaching superiority of religion. They follow somebody who claims to be God on earth, haha, we don't have that, we don't claim that, how proposperous...mmmh lets hide away our past, lol. Oh, get real Muslims have lost their ways plenty of times, they are not without fail. So have Christians. But it's that kind of fingerpointing that justifies religious wars. Both religions teach peace, btw, not war. Acceptance and understanding, not fingerpointing and steamrolling.

He is a fulfillment of prophecy. The current pope may or may not fulfill the last day prophecies concerning his institution but he could be. His wound is healing and he will have the same power he once had before Neapolian captured a previous pope.
Christian will reach across the oceans to work hand in hand to help him carry out his agenda.

The pope is just a religious figurehead. All religions are divisive. It is better to embrace the impersonal spirituality which can be found at the heart of all religions and not the dogma.

hi neu,

I am not Christian, Muslim or Catholic but my defination is as follows:

Syariah Law is created for Muslims to follow, In a Syariah Court we have lawyers to represent both parties (Guilty and Non Guilty ) and you have the Judge who makes decision based on the laws set by Court in Quran ... (True or False)

The Judge is not GOD or representing God, he is basically the person that knows better than most of us on the Islamic related matters and laws ...and he uses the Quran as his guidance of word of god

Similarly other religions have our own bibles and a wiser person who can define the writings is the best possible way ...

Holy Father is not GOD or representing God, He is a simple human being with more knowledge on the religious maters related to GOD by Catholics.

In the mosque, normally you will have one "hight priest" (sorry i do not know the actual muslim term for this) ... he will lead the prayers and he will give sermons
during your Friday Prayers ... He is not God, he is just explaining the word of god

If you have some misunderstanding on your religious matters you will refer to your "high priest" as he is more knowledgeable ...

If you are questioning on Vatican Priest ... just refer to Quran on your definition for your "high priest"

cheers

HI neulichuang.
First of all you have to distinguish between the Pope and the Holy Spirit. The Pope is there to unify the church, to lead the church. He is there instead of St. Peter the Apostle on whom Christ's church was founded. He has the authority with God's help to guide the Church through out the ages.

I am not a Catholic and I am not that knowledgeable in terms of their teachings or doctrines but one thing I know better that No one In this world could be a representation of God or has the same power as with God.

So, if and only if that Pope at the vatican would claim as such that's not proper.right?
