Potential Buyers for Newcastle United |
|
Newcastle United Football club's current owner Mike Ashley is prepared to sell the club.......... There are a host of names out there who are interested in buying Newcastle United...... They are: 1) DUBAI INVESTMENT CAPITAL: The early favourites despite their 18-month pursuit of Liverpool FC, the investment arm of the Dubai royal family has the resources to buy out Ashley and a long held desire to become involved with English football which has been exacerbated by their neighbours in Abu Dhabi, in the form of the Abu Dhabi United Group(ADUG), buying up Manchester City........ Newcastle United Vice President Tony Jimenez is in Dubai at the moment to open discussion.......... With Ashley willing to entertain bids below the 300 million pounds mark a deal in principle could even be rushed through inside a week......... 2) ANIL AMBANI: The world's sixth richest man has an estimated fortune of 250 billion pounds and owns the telecommunication's giants Reliance Communications........ The Indian businessman expressed an interest in buying the club last month with a figure of 260 million pounds floated but late last week withdrew from direct contact due to the turbulent nature of North East club....... Instead, Ambani has shifted his focus to Everton FC, with his son, Jai Anmol having attended Everton's pre-season match against PSV Eindhoven, with chairman Bill Kenwright eager to draw investment to Goodison Park.......... 3) PROFITABLE GROUP: The Singapore-based investment company was reportedly in competition with Ambani before the Indian pulled back from the chase...... The group has already set up a number of commercial ties and sponsorship concerns with Newcastle United and so is well placed......... 4) SAGE GROUP: The North-East based business concerned with the development, distribution and support of business management software that has a global market and is in rude economic health........ With their head-offices in Newcastle itself, the local credentials of the organisation would be sure to play well with fans who railed against the preceived 'Cockney Mafia' of Ashley and Dennis Wise......... 5)ANT AND DEC: Having successfully presented ITV's recent Soccer Aid programme, the pair have football credentials and as local boys made good would find favour with the Newcastle fans desperate to restore some civic pride....... A successful career in broadcasting from a tender age has earned the duo a bob or two and their celebrity could prove decisive in adding glamour and entertainment to the club again.

2. bloodsheder (110) | 1 year ago | ACtually mike ashley is a gd owner, in the sense that he did what is best for newcastle. Anyway just to inform u, the DIC has publicly rejected the idea of buying a football club again.
I hope newcastle can get a new financially strong owner to help them turn the tide.

3. stormragetz (307) | 1 year ago | I do feel that Newcastle fans are going abit too extreme over the current situation. They are overacting to everything, and this will not help Newcastle in any way. Now, it will take a brave man/organization who is able to take the heat from Newcastle fans to buy the club. With DIC already ruled out in buying Newcastle, I doubt anyone will buy a club that is still in debt, and has a really rotten luck in almost anything. So, I think Newcastle fans must brace themselves for an absence of potential buyer, and the fact that Ashley maybe sticking around for sometime.
I do feel sorry for the board members of Newcastle. Some of their defense for undermining Keegan's power in managing was that he requested a star-list of players for transfer, that would amount to 200 million pounds. If this is true, I do feel that the board members do have the right to doubt Keegan's managing skills. That being said, it is still wrong to try and do things behind Keegan's back. At least they should sit down and discuss about the issues.
I really have a bad feeling over the development of this unpleasant saga. I do hope that stability will be achieved soon in my beloved Newcastle.

4. ram_cv (2114) | 1 year ago | I would love to see Ambani buy Newcastle United. It is a club with fantastic fans and deserves a proper sports lover at the helm and not just any business man. Another interesting name that is doing the rounds is Bill Gates.
Cheers! Ram

stormragetz (307) | 1 year ago | Bill Gates! I have never thought of that possibility haha! Maybe he will rename St James Parks as the Vista Arena, or Window Park! Although, I doubt he has ever watch a proper game of soccer before...

ram_cv (2114) | 1 year ago | Anil Ambani just inked a deal with Spielberg to take on his partnership from viacom. So I don't think he would be in a position to ink another deal immediately for Newcastle. So he might be out of reckoning for this now.
Cheers! Ram
