Why do people complain about badges, but continue to work on them?

Okay i knwo most of us pay for membership on pogo. So therefore we want to get all the badges we have coming right? However, noone sits there and ties us to the chair and glues are hand to the mouse, and forces us to do the challenges. However, every single week, on almost any given day, there is at least one person complaining in the room i happen to be in, about how awful the badge is. This week it was in poppit. Well we are all in the games to have fun, and i realize we are free to chat in there, but cant there be some courtesy for those in there not complaining..lol. We dont want to hear someone going on and on about how they hate the badge, especially when noone is making them sit there and do it. If you dont like the game or what you need to do for the challenge..DONT DO IT! I admit sometimes i will simply type and say...then dont do it, but most time i keep quiet. Yes i can mute them, but if im in there with another friend or two chatting i shouldnt have to mute or go to private..i mean cant they do the same as far as private chat is concerned...go there and do your venting...or am i over reacting How about you, what are your thoughts on this?

I have noticed that, also. Another thing I notice is people complain if they do not get all the badges done on Wednesday, when they start. For example, if the badge might take a couple of days to complete. For me, at least, the fun is to make it last...to know that whenever I go on, I will have a badge to play for.

I agree with making them last...it makes it more fun each time you go to play.

It doesn't bother me because for the most part, I'm not paying attention to chat. It's not that I don't want to talk to people or see what they have to say. I'm just more focused on the game. If I do see someone complaining, it's because they don't know how to play the game or they just absolutely hate the game. Some take care of that problem by having someone else do the badge for them. Other times I think they have a good reason to complain. Some of these badges have a ridiculous goal and it seems like you'll never get it. I'm sure everyone remembers that dreaded Quick Quack challenge or even the bowling challenge where you had to score 200. As for not doing the challenge, I don't think there's many people who would do that. I know some do but a lot of people go for the badges. Like you said, people want the badges. If they didn't, then I don't think Pogo would give us weekly challenges. They would stick to the regular game play badges. But the challenges keep things new and sometimes exciting each week. People look forward to getting new badges and filling up their albums. And I'm sure the extra tokens that come with them are a big incentive as well. Another reason why it doesn't bug me is that it's a way for people to vent. We've all been there at one point or another, whether it be Pogo or something else. What's one of the ways we let go of that frustation? We vent. It's just better to get it out than to keep it in.

I am with you. They are meant to be a challenge so that you earn them....yes some get boring...and some take longer.....but if I get bored I play another game for a while...I do see someone almost all the time complaining...the last slots badge there was alot of complaining that it took too long!
