Do you use your computers to pay bills online? Or do you restrict yourself to general net surfing and playing games? Cheers! Ram

I think you have mistaken the question. When I say pay online, I do not mean from your online earnings alone. You can as well pay through credit cards or online banking. Just wanted to know how many of us are comfortable about paying online. Cheers! Ram

It depends on the bill. On some I use my debit card, on others, I use an on-line bill pay that my bank provides (for free! )

So you mean to say that you pay the bill close to the due date and hence earn more interest? Cheers! Ram

Yes I sure do pay my bills on line, as a matter of fact I haven't wrote a check in more than a year. Every business is now accepting on line or auto pay. I never see my check as it is a direct deposit to the bank. I have only 3 bill that I have to do manually. 2 Credit cards and my water bills. I hope they will soon catch up with everyone else so I wont have to do them. Some credit cards are now accepting auto pay. I think Discover is one. In the future we wont even have to touch money, just plastic...

Online payments are fine, but I do worry about the auto pay option as it gives too much powers to the people whom you enable this option for. Even if you are not agreeing with your bill, they can withdraw the money out of your account. I had one or two such instances and then stopped auto pay facility altogether. Cheers! Ram

That's good. Booking tickets is really one big benefit at least in India where queues are so long. Cheers! Ram

I do not pay my bills online because I don't like my personal info out there anywhere. I know it would help save stamps and time, but i would rather be safe than sorry with all those hackers out there today. They keep getting smarter and smarter. I don't trust banks anyway. They've messed me up too many times. I know they say it's pretty safe and all, but I just don't want to take the chance. I'd rather keep my personal info to myself. I do trust paypal though.

Hi Ram. It is a very nice idea to settle all your bills, through online payment gateways. YES. but, I had a very very bad experience. Most of the gateways here in INDIA are still in a very early stage, I presume. And, so, it takes days and weeks to reconcile and get the actual RECEIPT from the party. As a result, I was insulted, My mobile outgoing was barred. My POWER connection at my office was almost disconnected. My water connection was almost blocked. and the gravest was, I was BILLED SIX times, for a silly travel from Hyderabad to Visakhaptnam, due to some error on the gateway. Then on, I never use the online payments.

Oh God! That's really a very bad experience. Fortunately for me except for one occasion when one of payment got sent twice, most other times experience have been decent. Also, I usually get the bill printed on my home printer, so I have the bill with me in readiness. Cheers! Ram

Yes i do. I prefer to pay my bills online than to get myself into the long queue. I don't like standing in a long row to wait for my turn to be serve, so i prefer doing it online. However, some people don't like to pay through online. Because they feel that it's not secured.

Yes... that is the reason for me too... I hate standing in long queues. Especially in India, queues can get very long and also very unruly. Cheers! Ram
