Cats are born to love toys and games. As a very intelligent, curious and playful creature, they always show great interest on kinds of toys. But not all toys are fit for your cat. Meanwhile, not all toys are safe for them. How can we choose the suitable toy for our cats and make sure them like it as well?

hehe I find myself buying a new toy for my cat almost everytime I go to the pet store to buy them their food an litter. How I choose toys is I look at how they are made first. See I have kid proofed my house but for cats. I ran into a recent scare with my littlest one , she ate some fake ivy I had hanging about one of my windows . I did not know she did this until I changed the litter box and found a green left sticking out of a lil buisness in there. This scares me . So when I buy a toy I look for small parts that they could choke on or get wrapped into their digestive tracts , like long strings or googly glued on eyes. I found my cats love cheaper toys specially ones with feathers. I love the pom poms , I can play with them vigorously yet not get scratched. Also each one of my cats have picked their favorite toys . Usually its more of the simplies toys like the little mice or soft kittie balls. I try to stay away from harder toys because if I step on them in the middle of the night it just plain out hurts. I also love the kittie body pillows , these are the longer stuffed toys , they seem to give my cats a relaxing play . I hope this helps and gives you ideas to be able to enjoy your time with your lil furballs

I have 6 cats and they all have a different personality, different likes and dislikes. Therefore the toys I buy from the greatly vary. I have toys with sounds for my blind kitty, I have had crawly tunnels which none of them liked, and off course the standard plush mouses and rinkly balls which allways seem to do the trick. A fishing rod with a toy also works wonders, but basicly anything can become a plaything to a cat. They once still a tin foil ball I was about to throw in the garbage and I couldn't keep up with them chasing it though the house. I was affraid the foil would hurt their mouth, otherwise I would have let them played with it. They loved it!

I find my cats like things on a string, especially those that I drag behind when I walk round and round the house. This way both of us get our exercise. They like flashlights and lazer lights, too. I have to be careful with the lazer light so it dosen't get into their eyes. They do love to chase it. They even climb the scratching post to try to get it. They don't think much of the little mice that come in bags. Peaches has one mouse that she carries all over and talks to. We find it just about everywhere. We can't move it because she knows where she left it. But we do have to mend it every once in a while.

I bought our kitten 2 sets of elastic strings that goes through 3 balls and 3 bells. Our kitten, Maggie, loves it. She goes wild while playing with it. sometimes I wonder if it has catnip! I always watch out while using it though. she might manage to bite off the tiny bells and choke on it
