Deep breath .. and count 3, 2, 1. Think again do you really feel that should wait or not, cause no one will understand your situation perfectly.

The most difficult time is to make decision. Once decision made, you will feel better. Of course do make sure you hold on the decision strongly.=)

It sounds like your guy may be a bit confused right now. He is torn between holding on to you and the relationship, and worrying only about himself. Maybe he is just afraid of commitment. Time will tell.
In the meantime, only you can make the choice whether or not to wait for him. Take a careful and objective look at the situation before you make you decision. At this point, you need to think with your head more so than you heart.

you need to understand his situation, he is having a hard time right now and the decision he made could have been a tough decision he considered. he has his reasons why he chose sacrificing your relationship. it could be a good reason for him considering the fact that he also needs to concentrate on his studies or his life as a whole. since you're hurt right now, your mind could be thinking irrationally wherein you would think of it as a lame excuse. but then what you need right now is time to think deeply of what is right & wrong in your relationship. and by doing this, you first need to put away any grudges or release any negative aura for you to be able to decide. also when he is alreay, you need to talk to him sincerely. this event in your life/relationship is just a test and from these you could get lessons from it. hope this helps.
