What do you see when you look in the mirror?

I was going out for a dinner with my husband and, as my husband patiently sat on the couch, I frantically ripped through 76 percent of my wardrobe trying to find something - anything that didn't make me feel like the most unattractive woman alive. But the more stuff I tried on, the worse I felt. I have to reassure myself by looking at the mirror countless times if I look fabulous in my 15th choice of outfit, the more convinced I become that my thighs resembled three stumps while my stomach was so round I expected water to break any second. Three days later, while reflecting on my mini-crisis, I realised what I saw in the mirror as something completely different to what I actually am - a size 12 of average height, weighing 65 kg. It often amuses me how, whenever I look in the mirror, I see someone else; someone with flaws, someone who doesn't live up to society's standards. Have you ever experienced this frantic search for dresses when you go out for special functions? Does looking in the mirror give the true testimony of your real self?
