if you subscribe to or buy magazines regularly, what do you do with them after you've read them? do you keep them, throw them away or maybe even sell them? i used to keep old magazines but after a while i ran out of space so i started throwing them away.

I am not one to read magazines and such, but If I were I know I would keep them for awhile and then recycle them or give them to other people or maybe even make fun projects out of them if I could. I agree that they can take up a lot of space.

myLot reputation of 91/100. aidenw (495)   ranked 1,386 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

recycling is a good idea but unfortunately there isn't any recycling place near where i live. also if the magazines are on a very specific topic and technical there may not be very many other people interested in them. thanks for responding.

I usually keep them for a while and then when eventually I just get tired of seeing them around I throw them away.

I collect a few old magazines, then I either use them for artwork or throw them in the recyling bin. Or I cut out nice pictures from the magazines and put them in an album. I'm silly, right? =x

i don't think you're silly at all. creative is more like itthumbup. thanks for your response.

I love magazines and I keep them because my sisters use them for school projects and scrapbooking.

We read them and then donate them to the hospital and/or nursing home so that the patients can read them.

Sometimes my girls cut them up to make stuff out of but usually they get donated.

Have a great day!!

myLot reputation of 91/100. aidenw (495)   ranked 1,386 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

yes of course, donating them to those places is a great thing but some magazines have your name and addresss printed on them and i just don't want them to get into the wrong hands. i guess i could cover them with black markers or tear them off but that would be too tedious. thanks for responding and have a great weekend!

Hi, Aiden!

We teachers have a wonderful son to this problem. Many, including this one, bring them to school for the kids to read. I even subscribe to a few I don't read and I don't like, so the kids can have the benefit of something interesting to read.

myLot reputation of 91/100. aidenw (495)   ranked 1,386 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

it's interesting that the kids will read stuff that you don't like. are they kid's magazines? thanks for responding.

Actually, I teach high school seniors, not little kids. They love things like Teen People, ESPN, Vibe, etc., but they also like most of what I read, such as Time, Newsweek, Natioal Geographic. etc.

Hello there aidenw

I would either put them in the recycling bin as I went or take them to the doctors for their waiting room but if I had a whole collection of a specific subject then I would offer them to someone on freecycle.

myLot reputation of 91/100. aidenw (495)   ranked 1,386 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

hi humbug25, those that you take to the doctors, do they have your name and address on them? as i said above i'm a little concerned about my personal info getting into the wrong hands.

myLot reputation of 98/100. Humbug25 (4101)   ranked 272 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

If the sticker is in a place like the bottom corner then I just cut if off provided there is no really important info on the other side but there are usually just ads. I try to peel the sticker off if I have the time or scribble over it until it is illegible if it is in a more awkward place!

Hi aidenw,

Well I used to subscribe to a magazines and I have still got them as I used to file the the pages I want for reference and throw away the rest of the magazines so there is less clutter.

Tamara

i keep them to sell later.. a lot of the magazines i have kept are going to be worth something since they have famous people that are dead now as their feature interviews and etc

myLot reputation of 91/100. aidenw (495)   ranked 1,386 out of 14,597 in questions & answers  1 year ago

that's great that you can sell them. i don't have magazines that have famous people or anything that will be of value in the future. thanks for responding.
