RENT Live on Broadway in theatres

I know it sounds weird, 'live on Broadway' in theatres... but that's exactly what happened! If you know ANYTHING about Broadway, you know about RENT. RENT is probably one of the best ever Broadway musicals EVER! I may be just one random person, who unfortunately has never seen a Broadway musical live. BUT, I can NOW say I've seen RENT on Broadway (even if only in theatre) Yes, that's right. I spent $20 and drove 1/2 an hour to another state to watch RENT 'live on Broadway' and it was worth every penny... every minute... to capture all that emotion in 2 hours and 45 minutes. To show love, life, and death in 2 hours and 45 minutes. To measure our life in LOVE in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Seasons of Love, even! To give a 10 minute intermission where I did not move in fear of coming back into the theatre in 10 minutes and 2 seconds. That was ALLLLLL worth it! Upon leaving the theatre, I proceeded to the bathroom to wash away the eye make-up that ran giving me raccoon eyes. After that, I called my brother. The first thing I said to him once my wonderful puppy-nephew Bradley stopped barking was "COULD it be any better IN Broadway as it was in the theatre today?" His answer, "NO!" Quite fankly, I would have been SHOCKED had he said that wasn't as good as live, in person, at Broadway! 'WHY?' you ask? Well, that's VERY simple! The actors are FANTASTIC! They REALLY brought themselves into character! They showed TRUE emotion! SOOOO much real emotion that you would think it was really 2 humans in love with each other in real life and you were RIGHT there! SOOOO much real emotion that you felt Angel really, TRUELY, died of AIDS right there on stage and you wanted to be that woman wearing rubber so you could flirt with Maureen (yes, I had to insert that humor!) So real that you yearned for Roger & Mimi to look into each others eyes and stop holding back and just be happy with each other. SOOOOOOOO much true-ness and emotion that you didn't care that the ENTIRE 2 hours and 45 minutes took place on the same exact stage without pauses to put up new settings! And the music! WELL!!!!!!!!!! Let me tell you something! MUSIC is ART too! To feel the emotion in the music is what tells you it is ALL the right lyrics, all the right sound, all the right... EVERYTHING!!!! I have seen teh movie and now I can say I have seen the play. Which do I prefer? That was the question I was asked... My answer? Well... that was simple! 100% the play!!!! That much emotion was NOT brought onto the movie! (mind you, I DID bawl my eyes out during the movie, but you just can NOT portray Angel's death as strongly on the 'big picture' as you can on 'Broadway') Without going thru every single stage-in of the play, I'm just going to sum it all up here... RENT the Movie was excellant... RENT 'Live on Broadway' in Theatres was 'Sofa King' FABULOUSLY AWESOME & I'm ready to jump back into my car for the final showing today at 1pm!!! How about you all????
