I buy sweets for my grandaughter. I just try to limit the amount of sweets that she eats. I have a drawer in my fridge that she can get anything out of and eat it. I think it lets her feel that she has some freedom. I keep some candy and also squeezabele yogurt, cups of yourt, cottage cheees, cheese, fruit cups and apples. This works well for us.

I'm one of the moms who lets my kids eat sweets of cours with a limited amount daily. Just like you I put them in the fridge and they can get it if they want and they feel the freedom and they make a habit of asking before they have it automatically without having to tell them to do so.

Thank you so much for your response. I am so happy that I have found someone like me that lets their kids eat sweets I am criticized by a lot of people for doing so. But, if I leave it where she can get it she won't get it without telling me. And a lot of times she will choose something else instead because of the fact that the candy is available and not forbidden.

Ya true enough about that and I like to treat kids like kids. Most kids like candy etc so I think I should let they try anything they want and let them choose whatever not tell them to follow whatever I as a parent wanted.

I too allow sweets for my son. But I limit the amount of consumption. If he disturbs me, I would provide a candy to distract his attention. I would provide gummy candy and gjelly candies. But not much chocolates.

Yeah, I try to limit the amount too. Chocolate seems to be a problem sometimes with giving her too much energy. I really try to limit the chocolate. The gummy candy is a good choice.
