how often do you drink milk? |
|
we have this certain notion that milk are for babies. and now that we're adults do we still drink milk? or is it now beers that replaced it? when i was growing up i hated drinking especially when my mom would want me to drink it befoe sleeping at night. back then i did'nt care the nutritional value of milk. and now i love fresh milk! whenever i'm so tired from work & i want a goodnight rest, i make sure to drink a glass of milk for me to feel refreshed the morning after. how about you, do you still drink milk?

mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | yes i agree milk really helps in putting us to sleep. i'm not sure why, maybe because of it's nutritional value. that could be the reason why parents keep pushing us to drink milk before sleeping. as for me, the only time i get the chance to drink milk in the morning is eating cereals. and oh yeah, thanks for bringing up the fresh milk in coffee. since i love coffee, i'll try doing that. thanks for dropping by & thanks for the great response.:)

5. ratyz5 (3062) | 1 year ago | Up to now, I really don't mind drinking milk. Somehow, I could start a day by just drinking that warm glass of milk every morning.. not saying that its a complete breakfast but, even without much eating, milk somehow gets me through up until recess or lunch..
Aside from milk, my parents also bought those other breakfast drinks that would often be chocolate in flavor while they would prefer coffee.. I don't like it when milk gets left for a while and something gets formed on top.. I don't know what that is but, stirring it enough would dissolve it eventually.
I don't care if others would argue that we're already adults and milk aren't suitable for us anymore.. there's nothing bad about it anyway. During college, my classmates would ask what did I do or eat which resulted on me having my tall height. Most of the time, I would say that I drank milk when I was a kid and even up to now. They would all have expressions like confusion or disgust that I still drink milk..
Oh yeah, how often you ask? As much as everyday but, there are days that we run out of milk so.. (^_^")
We have young members at home now and their milk is sure more expensive so I guess that's where expenses are focused for now when it comes to milk..

|
mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | you bet! milk for babies, toodlers & kids nowadays are far more expensive with the regular milk we were drinking when we were young. i myself try to make it as often as possible to have milk in the fridge. when i'm super lazy to cook for my breakfast, its convenient for me to open the fridge & eat cereal. it's just too bad that i did not quite appreciate milk when i was a kid. but then good for you!:)

ratyz5 (3062) | 1 year ago | They would label milk for babies, toddlers and still on a few kiddie ages with all sorts of nutrients that induces progressive growth and development compounds that they would commercial as one of the factors that got a kid into something prestigious.. like some commercials that we sometimes watch.. as if the milk that they drank during those early stages enabled them to study in colleges or land that good job with popularity inducing stature.. would be interesting if there was a commercial about money, "Thanks to money, I was able to attend college, earn my degree which would've been impossible if I didn't had the money to pay for those tuition fees and permits to take those exams. "
Well, going back, I really haven't tried milk and cereal at all.. have not tried it and would prefer the cereals to be crunchy while a glass of milk is still in its glass. My cousins eat cereals with milk but, I just can't do it that way.. well, that's just me with cereals.. being all soggy or something that doesn't suit my imagination..
Well, its not as if you can't start drinking milk now. Before, I really detested bitter melons but, as time went on, I grew to like them and even look for them on menus whenever we dine out.. (^_^ )
Then again, if you are one of those who simply can't tolerate milk, aside from the taste but, milk having certain effects on you whenever you get to drink or eat food with high amounts of dairy in them, well, we can't do anything about that.. (-_-")

mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | oh yeah good thing i don't have lactose intolerance. lol
| |
|
|
ratyz5 (3062) | 1 year ago | Not being able to digest lactose seems like a good reason for those who really can't take the taste or drink milk at all (^0^ )
| |
|
|
mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | uhuh! the bad thing is that some people would love to drink milk but can't because of this intolerance.. and/or some people who needs to drink milk but can't.:( my friend's kid who is already turning 2 have this problem. they've been switching from one milk to another but the kid's stomach gets really upset. & only a prescribed milk which the baby can take. & boy that milk is expensive for a little kid. even way more expensive that those that we see in tv ads which promotes intelligence. & yes i remember ads for milk gets are a little over-rated already. they prove that drinking their "brand" of milk would get them or turn their child as gifted ones. oh well.. marketing stuff..
| |
|
|
ratyz5 (3062) | 1 year ago | Hmmm, wouldn't be it convenient if they could solve the body's inability to digest lactose for those who have that kind of intolerance? Prescribed milk indeed is sure expensive, even without being advertised that much. Well, being only available due to prescriptions from some who has a white collared job does make it reasonable compliment for its tag price? (-_-")

6. wolfie34 (13944) | 1 year ago | I can't drink plain milk it has to have something in it like Crusha strawberry syrup or milkshakes, the only time I have milk is on my cereal but I never have milk in my coffee, I prefer it black. I do a lot of body building so I need milk and a great source of liquid protein, probably only liquid protein there is which is on the market, but it needs to be flavoured for me to drink it.

mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | wow you do have ways of drinking milk. your flavored milk sounds delicious, is it okay to ask how you mix it?
| |
|
|
wolfie34 (13944) | 1 year ago | Crusha is a strawberry syrup which you pour into a glass first then pour the milk in and stir, you can add ice cream to it as well which makes it even tastier!

mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | oh wow i'm gonna try that! thanks!

7. amandoalexandra (127) | 1 year ago | as far as i remember, the last time i drink milk, was when i was pregnant with my second child, so probably, about 6 months ago. i really have to drink milk (the milk for pregnant woman) for my little baby inside my womb, as it greatly helps for her brain development. that becomes a habit actually, everynight, just before i sleep, same thing with my first pregnancy... so after i gave birth with my little girl, i don't know, but i don't like to drink milk anymore, as if i feel like, give me a break! just a smell of it, make me whew! how much more the taste..

mapi26 (356) | 1 year ago | lol. oh yes the things we do for love. i guess your experience is the same with other mother's out there. you drink milk for the baby's nutrition & after that okay no more milk, like enough is enough! there are also some who drinks chocolate flavor (for mom's) since they can't take the taste of milk. i just hope when i'll be pregnant i'll like the taste of those kind of milk.:p
