This isn't something that happens to me often. But my hubby is a different matter. You can send him to the store for some milk or bread. An hour or so later he will return. And it looks like he has bought out the store. Sometime he comes home with multiple bags full of items. But it all gets used so I guess no harm done.

For the most part, I make a list and stick to it. Once in a while I will make a snap judgement on buying something if it's on sale and it's on my list to get in the future. A couple of weeks ago I bought single bed flat sheets, I had them on my list to get if and when they went on sale. (I was making drapes and I wanted them to make a lining out of) Anyways, the store had them on sale for $2.50 apiece...too good a deal to pass up, and if I waited until the future, I would never be able to get them at such a rock-bottom price! I try real hard not to do the typical 'impulse spending' because it blows the budget way out of whack! I got a kick out of ersmommy's reply. My ex was like that too, except you'd send him to the store for milk and eggs, and he'd come back with 2 or 3 bags of stuff and forget totally about the milk and eggs hahaha.

Yes, that was such a good deal I figured it'd be stupid on my part to pass them up and pay twice as much (at least) the next time around. I use flat sheets for a lot of projects like that. I find you can't buy that much material for as little as you can buy a sheet for. My one daughter had wall to wall windows in her apartment (floor to ceiling) and I made her curtains out of sheeting (queen sized.) Everybody, even the apt manager, asked where she bought those beautiful curtains...they let light in but still afforded privacy. They were all amazed they were sheets hahaha. If she had to buy pre-made curtains it would have cost her a fortune (to say the least!) I just made my grandson 'Thomas the Train' curtains for his bedroom out of sheets. (Valance, cafe, and winter drapes) I lined the drapes, etc, with flat white sheets, and they were far, far cheaper than buying the Thomas window set :-)
