well, even i have read about it. Spanish claim that Russian mafia has involved in it. they haven't conformed it yet. but this is huge damage to zeith reputation. if this is proved a lot of damage will be done to zenith. Spanish media claimed that matches between bayer munic in the semis and final against ranger is fixed. nothing has been officially declared yet. zeith supporters will be keeping there fingers crossed. i hope this is just a rumor and otherwise it damages football reputation a lot.

I hope that this news is wrong. Given the fact that Champions League and UEFA cup are Europe's flagship tournaments for the club football, this can have serious repercussions. Already Italian clubs are tainted with this and punishments had to be meted out to clubs like Juventus and AC Milan. If countries like Russia which are just emerging as footballing nations also get into this mess, then God bless football. Cheers! Ram

Well, I am from Eastern Europe, and fixing matches is a common practice around here, but I find it hard to believe it can be done on such a level. Not that I find it hard to believe the Russians might have tried it, it's just that I really don't see Glasgow Rangers letting go of such a trophy.
