I find myself trying to look for different organizations that need volunteers. I am flexible and I could do almost anything. Of course, I am looking for volunteer opportunities that is within my area. So far, I am able to limit my choices into three organizations. I am still trying to see which is which. As much as I want to volunteer, I don't think I would be able to volunteer to all three. I have a full time job after all. If I would say yes to all of them, I would just be shortchanging them in the end.
Have you tried volunteering before? Which organizations? How were you able to choose that one?

Hi bubblyapple, I am a huge advocate of children. I started by volunteering at my church day school that offers pre-school and grades k-8th. My children both went to school there. I have been volunteering there since 1992. Now I chair the education board.
I was a youth leader for about ten years. Through that I got to know all of the local teens. I supported the "music crowd" helping them book local shows and such. Two friends and I would hold a benefit show every Christmas to support teens in foster care shelters. We scheduled local bands and always brought in one know professional band to headline.
I didn't really pick. I just volunteered at first to help with anything for children. Things just develop when you are committed to something. Try a bunch of them and see where it leads you.

I have volunteered before in an organization for farmers. Then I also voluntered in an orphanage and after that the orphanage hired me. Non government organizations in my country really needs volunteers because they mostly rely on funds from donations and foreign funding so volunteers are very welcome.
In one of my former work in environmental organizations, we had peace corps volunteers.
