Fair point. There are electric cars & electric cars
Most of the current electric cars that can only be recharged from the mains via a special, expensive & inefficient charger (that actually damage the battery each re-charge, giving it a short usable service life!), do actually emit more CO2 & SO2 pollution than hybrid cars where coal powered electricity stations are in use!

That would make buying these types of electric cars so very environmentally unfriendly, especially if more & more people stupidly bought them without knowing all the facts! I would not buy these over-priced wastes-of-money polluters, especially as I know a much better & cheaper & more environmentally friendly way available here & now. For around the three thousand dollar mark, you can get an electric vehicle conversion on your old bomb & wire up a renaissance charger. This will charge your cheap, readily available batteries while the vehicle is running. It will recharge them to better-than-new condition each time, giving them an infinite service life & you never have to bother plugging them in & out of the mains each day to recharge them imperfectly each time. It will be essentially maintenance-free with unlimited range! No need to worry about recycling batteries & further environmental damage from dangerous, expensive lithium batteries. Scroll down & read the fine print as well as the link to the Porsche conversion video that I've added separately "just in case" below it.

Hello there is no need to burn coal nor nuclear energy is required to charge the battery, it is charged from our house hold electric plug point, you can get it done in any garage too..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always.
Cheers.

Well actually it lessens the burning of oil and since you don't burn the oild yourself. If you use electric cars they don't emit carbon dioxide anymore to the environment that is why it is greener alternative than a regular car that emits lots of combustion gases that is dangerous to the environment.

It is true that the battery still need recharged and the electricity has to come from the power plant where in most cases are burning coal or nuclear. But then, even if you are using traditional way to generate electricity, the power plant can still do it much more efficient than your little engine in the car.
Most engines provide power by burning the oil which effectively is an explosion which push the shafts so as to provide power to the car.
Now, that "explosion" while very controlled, is very inefficient. In the power plant, on the other hand, generating electricity is much more efficient. So, theoretically, you use less fossil fuel to power your car to run the same distance.
And it does not consider the fact that electricity can be generated from renewable resources such as solar, wind, hydro, etc.
