| | Hello Jasmine, When I was eighteen, I was diagnosed with MS. I basically had the same symptoms you do. It started with a aggravating headache, that wouldn't go away, regardless of what I took. I then began having tingling in my finger tips on my right hand, I had numbness in my feet and hands, and walking was difficult. I had to hold on to the walls, and basically was staggering. My sight became blurry and my speech was slurred. I think this is a hard condition to diagnose. At first they thought it was a brain tumor, that was ruled out. I had many tests before they said I had MS. I was put on cortisone pills, taking about 24 per day, as well as b12 shots every two weeks. I was told that I would go into remission, and the symptoms would flare up again in about fifteen years, well the fifteen years have passed, and I am doing okay. My balance is still not the greatest, and five years ago, I was told that the optic nerve in my left eye was damaged. I do not know if there is any correlation. If you have been going through symptoms for the last ten years, the doctor's should be able to pinpoint the problem. I was in the hospital for one month, and then had a follow up of one week in the hospital the next year for more tests. Again, like I said, I am feeling well, except for my balance. I wish you well, because not knowing what is wrong, is almost as bad as knowing what it is. | | | | | | | | | | Neuropathy Signs Top Neuropathy Resources. Learn About Signs And Treatment. | | Since my husband have MS, I have been reading lots of research about MS. I am also in touched with other persons who are diagnosed with MS and people who are into MS research which is a foundation which my husband is supporting. I hope we can share pertinent informations about this disease and be of help to each other. Based on all the symptoms that you have mentioned here, and based on my husband's symptoms and a friend of mine too, I am afraid to say that they are indicative of MS. From your post my friend, it seems like after ten long years of experiencing all these symptoms your doctor hasn't give you a clear diagnosis of your illness. Of course we are still praying that we are wrong. Better yet, accept the possibilities, be prepared and educated about this disease, than load ourselves with hopes and be unprepared in the future. The lesions in the MRI should have already been there considering that you have underwent several MRIs and one doctor have already told you that it is indicative of MS. The only thing expected in every MRI that you are going to have are changes in those lesions (you can see this on MRI which are white spots in the brain) which will indicate if there are activities in the brain. No activities are better than with activities happening there. My husband's initial symptoms consist of numbness of his right leg, blurred vision, back ache, loss of balance, and tingling sensation on his back and right leg. Before he seek for medical advice he experienced that he can't even walk with his right leg and it felt so heavy. At that point he finally decided to see a specialist. A friend of ours who also have MS said: "When I covered one eye I couldn't see anything and when I covered the other eye all I could see was black." I believe that what you also need a Neurological Eye Test which my friend had. My friend was immediately given heavy cortisone by the doctor to prevent her from completely losing her eyesight. My husband experiences numbness of his right hand very rarely. He is lucky because his MS is not as progressive as compared to others with MS. But when it gets really bad especially when he is over stressed at work he can't even lift a fork, he walks terrible and lose his balance. I wonder why your doctors haven't give you any medication to at least slow down the progression of your condition. My husband was diagnosed 8 years ago and he had been given several medications already. These medicines are all still under trial for all MS patients since they haven't found the absolute cure for this. The latest medication which my husband had just started last month was the Tysabri. They administer this medicine at the hospital once a month. Tysabri as per our doctor's advice will halt the progression of my husband's MS. Wishing you all the best. Keep your faith and pray a lot. Take care. Hope this response helps. | | | | | | | jasmine0728 (419)

| | Thank you for your response.I think the main problem I am having with the diagnosis is my medical.I am on state medical and so is my daughter for almost a year she had a rash on her face that the doctors kept saying was ring worm, she was treated with a liquid medicine that made her sick to her stomach for quite sometime. My mother finally got angry and payed for her to see a different doctor,in 15 minutes they diagnosed her with exema gave me a cream and she was cleared up in a few days.I will try harder with my doctor to send me to an M.S. specialist.I do need a diagnosis and some medicine, this is affecting everything. My friends that know me well and knew me before I got sick can see the obvious difference in me.My family who should see the difference tell me to knock it off and walk strait go figure. My daughter doesn't accept that I am sick at all and does nothing to help me.I live on a second floor and have a horrible time bringing groceries in or taking the wash to the basement. Thanks again, | | | | toni_nakama (2289)

| | Jasmine, I hope you don't mind me asking...do you also receive disability benefits? At least it will help a little suffice your expenses for medication and regular check-ups. I wonder how much assistance you are getting under the state medical. I also suggest that you get in touch with the MS Research Foundation in your country, perhaps they can also render some help to you. I understand very well how this affects your daily life. My husband was also once encouraged by his Physiotherapist to try his best effort to walk straight, he said that the right leg, which is the most affected part of my husband's body, is getting dependent on the left leg. Thus, his right leg must have more practice and exercise by trying to walk straight. Your daughter and your family needs to accept the condition you are in, acceptance is important for them to be able to render all the support that you need. | | | | | | | Diabetic Neuropathy Foot Pain?
