I encourage everyone to call their Congressmember about the bail out turned pig out plan. I have called before and have met with Rep. Petri on a few occasions, his office told me that he voted agaisnt the House version the other day (which of course, I already knew), so we talked about how he is planning to vote when the Senate bill reaches the House Floor. I was assured that none of the brib... er, I mean pork was aimed at him. He hasn't decided which way he is going to vote because he wants to review the details of the bill iteself. His aid did tell me that he would have to see something significantly better about this bill than the one he already voted against. Call your Congressmember, believe it or not, they do consider phone calls to be significant. It's those "email petitions" that are ignored completely.

Why should we let them relax between elections?

I know what you mean, I called my congressmen earlier and the secretaries told me that they got a lot of these phone calls, and that they do help them decide. With a phone call you really show the congressmen that you aren't scared to vote them out either! Thanks for calling, we need more people to do so! I also encourage you all to do the same thing since this could really change the American economical and political climate.
