Ahh hypocrisy at its finest. After weeks of bashing McCain over and over and over for saying that he believes the fundamentals of our economy are still strong, Obama says this" "after this immediate problem, we've got the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows." http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080930/ts_alt_afp/usvotecampaignmedia_080930203730 Naturally Obama is accusing McCain of taking this quote out of context, but he's taking it in the same context that McCain was using when he said the fundamentals of our economy were still strong. Obama didn't mind editing out everything else McCain said in his speech. Any democrats want to touch this one? Do you now believe, as proclaimed by the messiah, that "after this immediate problem, we've got the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows"?

The bailout-pigout program is about one thing: Creating a way that Congress can portray themselves as saviour of the world. Now what will Obama do if he gets elected. Well, he can always spend money and support our enemies. He might even create a new cabinet position - Domestic Terrorist. djbtol

What hypocrisy? You say that Obama didn't mind editing out everything else McCain said, but it didn't really change after editing. Here's McCain's full quote: "You know that there's been tremendous turmoil in our financial markets and Wall St. And it is -- people are frightened by these events. Our economy, I think still -- the fundamentals of our economy are strong. But these are very, very difficult times." http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/09/mccain_this_morning_the_fundam.php We all know McCain later came back and corrected himself by saying basically that by "fundamentals" he meant American workers and that American workers are the best in the world. (I'm paraphrasing here.) I'm certainly not going to disagree with him there - our country does have the hardest workers and the most dedicated workers in the world. However, if someone doesn't have a job and doesn't have any money or resources to start their own business, it doesn't help much if they're the hardest working, most dedicated person in the universe. Now, here's Obama's full quote, taken from the link you provided: "We don't just need a plan for bankers and investors, we need a plan for autoworkers and teachers and small business owners. "I have said it before and I'll say it again: We need to pass, after this immediate crisis is over, an economic stimulus plan. Right now. "For working families -- a plan that will help folks cope with rising food and gas prices, that can save one million jobs by rebuilding our schools and our roads, and help states and cities avoid budget cuts and tax increases. "A plan that would extend expiring unemployment benefits. For those Americans who have lost their jobs and have been working hard to find a new one, but haven't found one yet. That's part of the change we need. "And then after this immediate problem, we've got the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows." (End of quote) You wrote, "Naturally Obama is accusing McCain of taking this quote out of context, but he's taking it in the same context that McCain was using when he said the fundamentals of our economy were still strong." I must respectfully disagree that it is not the same context at all. What Obama was referring to was after this bill is passed along with a stimulus to help accomplish all the things and solve the problems he mentioned in his quote we would THEN and only then have "the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows". I honestly and sincerely see no hypocrisy there whatsoever. I know I'll get a lot of argument on that point, but I don't see it. We can once again make our economy strong but we have a heck of a long way to go before we get there. Annie

Obama can't remember today what he read aloud yesterday. And he is only a puppet that is being controlled by someone else. He and his wife are being used to take over our government. I just hope the people of the USA wake up before it's too late to stop it.

It's the same old thing again - anything McCain says is up for criticism and anything that Obama says is taken as the God honest truth - I'm sick of it! I can't believe that people can be so dumb as to believe the guy!
