Yes, it is true. Anti-gun liberals got quite a shock recently. This happened as a result of their doing a real scientific study. Here's the short of it. Some researchers, wanting to prove the indignity and stupidity of unregulated gun shows making guns widely available to criminals, which surely increased the mayhem and murder, conducted a 10 study comparing homicide rates in California with regulated gun shows to Texas with unregulated gun shows. Guess what? Unregulated gun shows caused there to be fewer murders! Obvious conclusion: When honest citizens have easy access to guns, criminals know it and behave themselves better. Unregulated gun shows are therefore a good thing as honest citizens are more likely to own guns whereas criminal ownership of guns is likely unaffected. Convoluted rationalization: Police intensify their efforts after unregulated gun shows because of concern over the increased number of firearms that are sold. Thus, the unregulated gun shows are of no benefit as to really reducing the number of homicides. What would be useful are more police and increased police activity. What do you say?
