They finally got O.J. |
|
Seriously, did anyone expect a different outcome from this "trial?" There is no doubt in my mind that he was really being tried all over again for the murders. I don't know if he did those despicable crimes or not, but I do know that he was found not guilty. This decision did not go down too well with many people. They have never been able to let it go. It's sort of like in the old gangster movies when they were trying to get a certain mobster. Inevitably, if they were not able to get him for one crime they always managed to collar him for something else. That's the American Way. All of that aside, I don't see where this man should probably be locked up for the rest of his life. He was only doing what most people would do in the same situation -trying to get back what belonged to him. I know that many of you won't see things the way I do here, and that's OK with me. I'm just seeing so many things happen almost on a daily basis that make me not so proud to be an American.

1. OceanTiara (2962) | 1 year ago | Hello World my friend! I agree, the OJ is a touchy subject...um, you know World, that man has been through it, and I have no clue of his innocence or guilt, but somehow I think I tend to agree with you..the man was marked from the start. Amen xooxox

worldwise1 (6114) | 1 year ago | Thank you for having the courage to at least respond to my post, Ocean. I figured that I would get no response on this topic actually. I've learned that certain topics are considered off-limits here on myLot, but I think it's a crock. I find it hard to believe that so many "open-minded people are afraid to voice their opinion on a topic that has been so much in the news lately.

worldwise1 (6114) | 1 year ago | I can't judge the man, stephcjh, because I have no inside knowledge as to whether he committed the crime he was accused of or not. I do know that a lot of people like to think he is guilty simply because that is the way they want it to be. He's black, and that's criminal enough for some.

3. dloveli (1013) | 1 year ago | To be quite honest I think O.J. asked for this one. He got aquitted once. Did he honestly think hed get that lucky again? Its not as if the world was behind him. He has been the butt of many bad jokes and innuendos since the trial's verdict thirteen years ago. He's put his poor family, and children thru hell. WHat did he think was going to happen. People have been stabbing him in the back since the first incident. How stupid could he have been to think these guys had his back? I think the judge will give him life just to say he/she was the one to finally get O.J. Lets hope its done for the right reasons. Like that's going to happen. dl

4. carolscash (4886) | 1 year ago | I hadn't heard that he was found guilty this time, but I personally agree with you that he was not being tried for this crime but for the murser of those two people so many years ago. I don't think that he was guilty that time and I feel that he was getting his stuff back this time. The judge needs to take into consideration that this doesn't call for life. I believe the murders all those years ago were the result of a drug deal gone bad. She was made out to be the perfect wife and he was made to be a monster. I don't believe that you ever truly know someone no matter what they look like on the outside or how they are perceived to be. You are right that he has been treated like someone in a mobster movie. I believe that this will drag out for awhile as I believe that his attorney will call for a dismissal of this trial as he was faced with an all white jury. We certainly would not use an all black jury for a white man. I see many things in the world today that make me not so proud of being American too. I am glad that you started this discussion and I hope that you get a lot of responses.
