Now This is One Nice eBay Seller!

I bought a book on eBay about a month ago. The seller notified me within a few days of ordering it that the book would be delayed because they just realized it was actually out of stock in their store. I told them that that was fine because even though it was a present for a friend, I'm never on time with gift giving anyway. Plus, I knew my friend would be super happy that I got this book. The book ended up being out of print. So the seller paid more money than I bought the book from them for, to buy it from another seller on a different website. I was overjoyed to be able to get the book and immediately gave them positive feedback. Then even after they already had secured the positive feedback, they sent a nice thank you card to me for being so patient about their mistake. Now that's what I call a nice eBay seller! Anyone else want to share their wonderful seller stories? And by the way, I am definitely buying my books from this seller in the future. :)

Now there's a seller who is willing to go the extra mile to please a customer! And she got what her business needs: a customer who will return again. Sounds like an excellent business practice; too bad more sellers don't have that attitude. She can count her purchase of the book as a business expense, too. Money isn't always the bottom line when it comes to making people happy. I have been selling on eBay for almost four years and try to please my customers. I have a pretty good track record for my effort.

I always try to please my customers as well. But thankfully other than shipping price errors I haven't made any major blunders yet (knock on wood!). And yes, you are correct it was a good decision for her to get a repeat customer. Especially because I am the type of person who will stick with a good seller and I buy tons of books online.

I recall a few months ago I found a really adorable shirt. I am a very small girl so I always shop in the children's sizes, but I forgot that I was so instead of a Large I ordered a Small. I realized my error after I'd paid for the small which was I think $3 less than the large. I sent them a flustered email asking for them to let me switch my purchase and charge me the difference. Instead they said it was no problem, they'd send the Large, don't worry about the price difference (which wasn't substantial but still, money is money). The shirt is awesome and still one of my favourites, and I'm waiting for the day that they have something else I think is precious so I can buy that too. Definitely returning.

That really is great...it's so nice to have a positive deal go through. I used to sell on Ebay and I still buy on there these days. I've had numerous good deals go through but two stand out. The first was an older woman who bought a large old edition cookbook that I listed. After she won the item she contacted me and told me that the book was actually for her mother who lived in Canada. She knew before bidding that I didn't do out of country shipping so she wanted me to ship it to her and then she'd ship it to her mom so she could have it for Christmas. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas so I knew it wouldn't make it through two trips in time. I told her I'd go ahead and ship it to her mom which I did. Not only did the woman that bought it send me a thank you card but so did her mom. The second was just a couple months ago. I ordered a Chicken Soup for the Soul book and when it arrived it was packed so nicely, wrapped in shipping paper, then wrapping paper, then tissue paper and then the book was in a plastic sleeve. There was a card and a little angel bookmark in with it also. It was a really first rate job...she took extra time to make me feel like it wasn't just a quick transaction but she really cared. I love having really great deals like these...it makes it worth it when you have to deal with the headaches. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

Wow, that is really nice of you to ship something to Canada. I've shipped to Canada once and it was a huge hassle so I've never done it again. It doesn't seem to be as much of a hassle on their end though because I've noticed most Canadian sellers will ship to the U.S. I love it when sellers pack the items extra special. I buy glass earrings a lot and half the time I am shocked they never got broken in the mail. But one seller always uses tiny plastic boxes which also double as good storage later for the earrings so that I don't break them in my jewelry box.

That is really sweet of you to send a package to Iraq. I've noticed it's a lot harder to sell on eBay now. But I still go there to buy items frequently. I just don't sell as often as I used to.

There is alot of hassle with shipping out of the country not to mention that they keep very careful records and you have to adjust the postage each time. So, I mainly shipped in the US. I did have a woman in Texas that wanted to buy a US Flag blanket that I had listed and she emailed me ahead of time and asked if I could ship it to her husband in Iraq...I was happy to and even put in some extra things. They were both thrilled. I really enjoyed doing Ebay and the ppl that I dealt with really seemed to appreciate my attitude with them...I wish I could have stayed with it but the market just got so flooded that it wasn't possible. Not to mention that there seemed to be a big increase in non-payers and such, which is more hassle. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

Wow - I have never had that good a service from somebody - I once had a item that came with a nice little note saying 'I hope you enjoy your item' but, other than that not as good as service as what you received!!!
