why is that elder people are called "old" people but children are never called "new" people? why is this english language like this. everybody is equal and important then why is that we don't call the children as new people?

well a baby when first born is called a new born :) and I guess something that is new is a one time thing where as something old can be old for a long time. you never see something new stay new for long so the language changes and they become youngsters until someone younger than them calls them old or elders :)
