Did you ever sit in a really hot car, while waiting for your fast food order?

Have you ever had to sit in a really hot car
in the drive through line of the McDonalds
while waiting for your burgers?
When I was a kid, we bought lots
of fast food hamburgers during the summer.
Probably, so my mom wouldn't have to cook
and heat up the kitchen.
Most times, it was 90 degrees outside and we
would sit in the car in the McDonald's drive through lane,
with the windows rolled down
(practially suffocating)
while our hamburger order was being filled.
I have always wondered why she didn't just
send my brother inside to buy the burgers.
Would have been faster.

yup. at least 4 or 5 times every single summer. and our summer average temp is at least 105F im sure..many many times pushing 111F!! and since the a/c crapped out on the car and its too expensive to fix...sit and swelter away is what we do if we dare to want fast food for lunch!
i hate having to go inside to the counter, so i only go through the drive-thrus. but it im willing to sit and sweat in order to not have to deal with even more ppl inside lol!

Those places are a mad house
during summer, especially since they
have ac and lots of moms just want
to go in and sit down.
Plus I think they have the playground
at some of the McD's.

I rarely ever use the drive through because going inside is often quicker and it certainly doesn't waste gasoline
Although I enjoy sitting in a hot car, most people do not. I have been known to just go sit in the car in the driveway where it is very warm in the car and cold outside. I know, I'm weird

The gas waste issue is a big reason
to avoid the drive through lane.

We have sat in a hot car. Our air conditioner doesn't work and will cost a bundle to fix. I have sat in worse places. Sometimes it helps to go inside, but alot of the time they do the drive thru first.

I've never understood why people would want to do that. There was a McDonalds where I used too live where people would queue up then eat their meal parked in the car. Why not get out, go inside, ger served faster then eat it in a slightly nicer environment without stinking out your car?
The same people also used to really bug me by just discarding their empty wrappers etc next to the car. The whole place ended up awash with litter and it was so unnecessary as there were bins provided all over the place.
