How far do you travel to shop?

i live in a fairly urban area, so its not too bad to do any sort of shopping for me. i seldom go to the mall but i do like a outlet mall but its about 45 min away from my house, so we dont go there that often. but walmart and a regular mall are about 10 minutes away.

I'm rather fortunate, staying on the edge of the city. The nearest mall to us that offer more than just food - fashionable clothes and boutiques - is about 10 minutes drive away. Others are about 15-30 minutes drive away (depending on traffic conditions).
We don't really have to drive that far; it's only the crowds that dissuade us from going often!

theres a strip "mall" about 40 minutes from my house but all it really has ia a warehouse one, cheque cashing place/money thingie, dollar store, furnitre stre and a grocery store.

The nearest REAL place to shop with more selection is Lloydminster and thats an hour and a half away...its also where the nearest walmart is.

We go about once a month or so to lloyd. Gotta love living in the middle of nowhere.

We used to have a close one in Breck, CO. It was an outlet mall and it had all the good stuff like Coach and other high end stuff. Now we're in Tulsa, OK and we have a couple of malls to browse through, they are pretty close but I'm a looker for pretzles and that's about it. I guess it would bite to have to drive so far to a mall.

I just go down my town centre which is a five minutes walk. Since it is a small town there are not lots of shops and variety. Usually I go to a nearest bigger town which is ten minutes by car.

I have a supermarket near me that I go to very often. I have another supermarket that is further away from me that I go to less often. There is a frozen foods shop about the same distance away that does good offers. I love going to a town about 45 minutes bus journey away. There is a lovely supermarket there that sells fancy food. I also like to go to a supermarket that sells lots of vegan products. Also there is a wonderful health food shop in that town. If I want to buy books my local town is hopeless so I head into one of two large cities, half an hour away by train from my home train station. The train travels much faster than the bus I find. I take my own shopping bags with me when I go shopping to help the environment.

Hi sillychick, we live in a small place so all the places to shop are hardly not more than 15-20 mns. drive. Its good to know that you are going to shop for some special occasion. Happy Shopping!

I live in a pretty small town so all of the shops I go to are right close by...though for me they still seem far b/c I don't drive. I used to go to other towns to shop at times but with gas prices I've just stuck to our own town.

We're lucky that our groceries can be found within a mile or so. We so rarely buy clothes that I don't even think about it! Eight miles is the nearest town with a wider range of shops but we tend to only go there when we really need to.

I have never traveled more than 30 minutes from home to shop before. I think it is a waste of gas to go much further if I can find the same things at a much closer store, but I guess thats one of the benefits of living in a big city.
