Antisocial behavior update on my niece |
| |
| Well since we were not getting any straight answers from my brother...we called my ex SIL. This is what we have learned. My niece was driving the truck, she says she saw her boyfriend buy the truck at a junkyard but there was an APB out on the truck and its plates as being stolen and that is why they pulled her over and ran a check on her liscence. She had both the girls with her, the 9 month old in a carseat the 3 year old (almost 4) was not in a carseat or booster and not buckled in either, and she had a 17 year old as yet unidentified male with her also. She was arreigned today and will be kept incustody till November 5th when she is scheduled to appear for the failure to appear charges. She has been in trouble since jr high. she is a compulsive lier, she will not take responsibility for her actions, she doesn't form relationships, she has substance abuse problems, she is manipulative, she shifts the blame to everyone else, she is easily provoked to violence and the list goes on. Does he sound like she has an antisocial personality disorder to you? She needs serious help. She has told her mother (ex sil) that if she brings the papers up she will sign temporary custody of the girls to her. My exsil has the girls right now. The police let my niece call her mom to come get the girls. My exsil went out to check her house (she has locked up the house while she is living in town) and my niece had broken in and trashed the house! | | | | | |

| | Oh that is so sad.Such a pity for her to throw her life aways.. with 2 young kids. I hope your sister is strong. I pity your sister too... her house being trashed by her daughter, no less. yes, your niece needs serious help. Not only for her sake, but for her kids. | | | | | | |

| | Fortunatly almost all of the furniture and belongings were not in the house it is just a matter of trash and nastiness to clean up as all the utilities were off during this time. My exsil is trying to figure out how she is going to juggle working full time and not being able to afford daycare and taking care of the girls. She makes too much money to qualify for assistance. Also has to consider my nephew who is 17 and in highschool and living at home. She doesn't know what she is going to do. My brother may be fighting for custody of one or both of the girls. So we don't know much yet what is going to happen to them. We live 1500 miles away so it is hard for us to be helpful at all. | | | |

| | That's heartbreaking, she must have some serious problems, there is definately a possibility that there is some underlying problem, because most well people would not put their children in danger like that. I really hope she'll get better soon, but what matters most right now is the children. Hopefully they will be just fine. | | | | | | |

| | Wow. That is terrible that she did such a thing. Amazing what people will do but then they make their own choices and these choices come with consequences. | | | | | | |

| | I am no doctor. So I really can't say what i think your niece has. But it does sound liek she needs some help by talking to a theripist to get to teh bottom of this. It also sound slike the best thing for the girls is to live with another relative. Espically if she is willing to sign custody of the girls. That alone says she knows she needs help. That is the first step in the right direction. | | | | | | |

| | She doesn't want help. She feels it is everyone else's problem not hers. She even said that the judge at her arreignment was trying to trick her. | | | |

| | Hey sweet. Sound like neice is quite the terror! I think she needs to be locked up for awhile! I'm not sure that it will help. I think she is too far gone at this point and I'm not sure that anything is going to help except something really serious like sending her to boot camp or something to that extreme. Obviously the children need to be permanently taken away from her for their own good. I'm sure that won't be a problem. She is definitley an unfit parent and it won't take much to prove that. It really is a very sad situation that she is putting the family in. I feel bad for her parents. Since she is an adult it is up to the judge what he deems the proper punishment for her. At least her children won't have to suffer anymore. | | | | | | |

| | Maybe it is time she gets some serious help. This jail sentence may be the best thing for your niece. I feel sorry for the children. I am glad they are OK and with an adult that will love and keep them safe. Will your ex sil raise the two children? I do not know what I would do if one of my kids needed me to raise their children. Good luck to your ex sil and to those babies. | | | | | | |
